    Default Installation Instructions?

    Hi guys,

I've just reinstalled RTW and got BI patched up to 1.6 - I was wondering what the best way to approach downloading and installing ExRM is these days, what with the release of the Open Beta?

    Cheers

I also wanted to ask this question .The mod is great(skins ,battle and campaing balance)but I get CTD errors all the time .I have missing pictures in the unit card screen, and crashing or missing historical battles .Please explain in detail how to install or better yet make a exe installer when the complete version is ready .I have a RTW Gold + BI by the way .

Urm... downloading it and installing? I don't know of any other approach Simply unzip the file you download, and place it's contents (not the "ExRM final beta", rather the files that are within) in a folder you'll create called "ExRM" (so that it's easier to "install") in your main RTW folder. Then create a new desktop shortcut, by copying a vanilla RTW desktop shortcut, right-clicking it and then opening "Properties", go to "Shortcut" and add this is the end:" -show_err -nm -mod:ExRM" (Even the space in the beginning is necessary!). Then you should be good to go!

@k1ller, it would help a lot that you'd say which are these errors. The only way that the team gets to know of their existence and to solve them is if you report them. If you just stay quiet then no one will know what is causing your CTD's, and therefore, can't help you.

And remember! This is just a beta version. The reason it was released was for more people to help the dev team to get the final product finished before, not so that they could play (I mean, sure, games are made to have fun and all, the idea is that you have fun and report the bugs you go finding on the way.

Hehe, don't worry Debux, I'm well aware of the dealio I used to be an old hand around these parts

Thanks very much for the help mate - when my supposedly 100mb connection starts working properly again I'll download and start posting up the bugs I find in the thread.

I take it there's still a batch file to delete the relevant map.rwm (or whatever it's called ) file?

I've got old versions dotted around the place, so if you don't have said batch file, I can post the code for you to create one yourself.

    Cheers Pann, I appreciate that

Currently my internet won't let me complete the download. It's taken 8 hours just to get to 60% done and then give me an error message saying that it can't read the source file

Edit: I got my room mate to download it for me and I now have it installed. Cheers for the help

No problem, I just didn't know much what you were asking (you weren't very precise on what your problem was, to be honest ) I just wrote the same message for both (and wanted to say all the info possible in one post to have to avoid posting again ), good to know you got it to work though! Happy conquering!
