    hi guys,

i thought long time about posting it but when i went on Shogun 2 again yesterday i just remember what i really disliked on Shogun 2 again.

when you are start the game he is presenting very beautiful rendered scenes in the background... so far so good but as they repeat anyway it better would be better HD videos - positive thing they would run same quality on every hardware.

when you are on the multiplayer avatar campaign map (iam not talking about single player campaign), which was not really a graphical "bomber" same issue occoured. graphic card is is heating up like hell.

when you were waiting for other players (matchmade) or battle list the same issue.

please do me a big favour. although it is nice to have warm foots in winter while you play TW Shogun 2 and waiting for players or on avatar campaign map we better would have videos of the scenes that dont cause so high load while we infact doing nothing...

it is okay for me in singleplayer or in game. but aside that it is a waste.

hi guys, am i the only one with that opinion? in fact while waiting for other players Shogun 2 in the matchmade battles, battlelist and avatar campaign map, it took the same amount of wattage and load on my gfx while being in a real battle. *rolled-eyes* dont think this waste of ressources a needed "feature".

At least allow us to change the animated background into a 2d picture like we could in Rome.

    from totalwar.com
I see what your saying lol. The fact that the back screens are actually being rendered like you are in game while you wait for mp, or if you decide to leave the game up while you leave and then forget about it 10 hours later or something of that matter. AND its using uneccsary processing power while it could be used to load games faster bugs you becasue it is wasting power and running your GPU hot. So you are simply asking if CA can change the backscreen to a pre-recorded video of some type...Is this correct?

holy cow you hit the nail thank you for explaining it now i hope it is noob proof.. dunno what ive done wrong explaining it.

on TWC someone had an simple idea: in the game option let us have a option to "disable rendered background animations"

perhaps iscaran and aljabberwock would agree with me to have at least the option to put background animations of

this option would fit it most ) you can do that CA
everyone is talking about energy efficiency and green-IT do you care?

while it could be used to load games faster bugs you

it wont load much faster perhaps - thats not the problem but just the uneeded load and power consumption at this time.

and again also the mp avatar campaign map hadnt to be rendered which it currently is because also there he is pushing temps high as if ingame. weird

just reposted it here as explanation as my posting seems to be confusing for a lot of people. dunno why.

how can i understand you picture?

i took my time to make an example with real measurement?

you play Shogun 2 Multiplayer - lets start mini - perhaps every day 3 hours
you spent 1 hour of the three for waiting in matchmaker and setting up games. thats also very realistic.

and there are some other people doing this lets say 10.000. Makes 10.000 hours around the globe

lets take my quite energy optimized rig (compared to its computing power) consumes about 313 watts while WAITING or SEARCHING for players.
lets assume as i know it the power consumption in normal mode are about 144 watts, what i measured e.g. while being in civ 5 lobby and doing same (waiting for players setting up games)

we have a saving of 169 watts * 10.000 hours = 1.690.000 watts or 1690 kilowatts/hours wasted, around the globe every day.

You drive a Toyota Prius don't you? My computer is already so monstrously power hungry this would make 0 difference.

no i dont. well i think it would make a lot of difference if your gfx wont be fully loaded. it does a difference on all systems by design
