Macedon elite unit recruitment - help !

Hi guys,

I've been really enjoying this awesome mod but, playing as Macedon, I can't understand how to recruit either Agema phalangites or companion cavalry (or any other elite unit). I've searched the forum but can't find the answers. Please help me ! Those boorish Romans are constantly attacking and I need to repel them !

Construct Elite successor barracks or whatever it's called.

Try searching the forum under "barracks", but I think it's probably:

1) You need a fortified or merged city
2) Weapons metal import building if there is no metal resource

in order to construct the elite barracks

You need the "Fortified Region" or "Economy+Fortified" AND "Supply of army rations" for getting to the upper tier barracks (hidden from the building guide). As I recall, you can queue Army Rations in Pella on the first turn and recruit Companions and Agema from the third.

Thanks to all for the replies. I'll look into it now. The Elite barrack doesn't seem to appear in the building browser.

I cannot remember, but look at the higher barracks that DO APPEAR on the building browser and it may have a note on the description about next lvl barracks.
