    Default Proper cities

    Will proper cities be included? I know the demo contained an amazing carthage but is that from the campagin map or from a historical battle/tutorial screen? really hope the cities will be varied and detailed as the demo one - lets hope CA delievers on its promises this time because this game could be really epic if they make it how they have stated they will

    What constitutes a 'Proper City'? A different model for each map? Knowing there could easily be 100 cities I doubt this will happen.

    True there will be a hell of a lot of new cities, however you cannot have the same cities for differing cultures. Surely this will be split up into maybe the major cities (so capitals, Rome, Carthage, Alexandria, Sparta, Londinum etc etc) and there maybe several types for each one, e.g. 2 or 3 models for say a large town. Again all those hypothetical it seems logical that there wont be all the same city models.

    I think there will be several city types for each culture, and of course leading to the major capital with excessive detail to capture that all important effect down to the last cornerstone.

    I believe in one of the interviews they said that a few major cities would be custom designed, Carthage, Rome, and one other I can't remember. The others would be built from tiles that make up the cities in general, which will be affected by where they are (guessing climate?) size of the city, culture and time.

    I was once an Angel of Total War Heaven, but gave up my wings for a life on the sea of battle.

    The demo Carthage is from a historical battle. It's possible that major cities will be faithfully reconstructed, but the intention is you develop the cities - so surely they'd only look realistic for a certain amount of time until you decide to build/expand stuff that wasn't really there.

    I read in an interview that they were going to have (in some cases) life-size cities. So it sounds promising.

    Whether that actually gets implented or how much freedom you have in designing your own cities remains to be seen...

    Just make the most important cities handcrafted, the rest should not look all the same (within one climate region of course). Then I'm happy.
