    Hey everyone,

    I have just been thinking about M2TW and I have not played it in ages! Then i got to thinking about extending the vanilla game a bit to include a bigger map and more factions. I forgot the starting time for the game but I know it's like 1088 or something like that. Anyways here is a proposed faction list

    Start Date: 1100 AD
    End Date: 1453 AD

    Faction List:

    1. England
    2. France
    3. Holy Roman Empire
    4. Venice
    5. Milan
    6. Spain
    7. Portugal
    8. Sicily
    9. Scotland
    10. Papal States
    11. Denmark
    12. Poland
    13. Hungary
    14. Byzantine Empire
    15. Turks
    16. Egypt
    17. Moors
    18. Mongols - Emerging
    19. Timurids - Emerging
    20. Wales
    21. Ireland
    22. Norway
    23. Novgorod
    24. Kiev - Russia
    25. Lithuania
    26. Principality of Antioch
    27. Kingdom of Jerusalem
    28. Teutonic Order - Emerging
    29. Rebels
    No new units necessarily but just new factions (mainly Kingdoms factions) just to expand the game.

    Thoughts?

    Well pretty much it's just adding factions right? Should it be hard at all? I have never touched a file with M2TW haha but if it's similar to RTW I might be able to do it!

    No, it's not hard. Time consuming, yes, but not hard (well, at least that's how it is for me ).

    I'd rather see the New World removed in favour of more factions like Aragon =)

    That's what I'm thinking as well. So far I would want to add:

    Genoa
    Kiev
    Aragon

    4th one is up for grabs.. Is there another Arab faction, besides Moors, Egypt and Turkey? Maybe an Extended map to have Kwazahirm (something like that ha)

    Or what about Sweden?

    By the way I won't be able to work on this for some time, I just wanted to post about it to see if there was interest. Currently I am making Extended Rome Total War, and I wouldn't have time to mess with starting another mod (not wise).

    Glad there is interest though!

    Unfortunatly due to other modding commitments i dont think im going to able to continue working on it.

    The map is roughly 50% complete.

    Well the thing is, I am very caught up in my current mod. So I probably won't start on this one until that one is finished. If you would like to help research for that one, PM me

    Okay, time to get this thread going again haha.

    I have come to a conclusion of what I want to do with this mod.

    I will leave two slots open for after the initial mod is complete. Really all I need to do is port the necessary factions and units over from Kingdoms right?

    I also updated the OP.

    I don't know what map to use though.. I could use the vanilla map, but then I have the Aztecs to deal with, and if I'm going to have the Aztecs in, then I might as well add in the Maya to complete the faction list right?

    Hmm, sorry to say but this reminds me of Kingdoms Grand Campaign Mod which does pretty much the same thing, bigger map and kingdoms factions and units... I'd suggest you to make your mod more unique, to have a new map, some new factions, or PSF's on the map, in 2nd version if not in 1st, idk, just saying...

    As for americas, I'd say get rid of it and focus on the "Old world", unless you want to change the start date to 14-15th century or more and focus more on americas (and there is a WIP mod on something like this already).

    Yeah I saw that mod after I posted this. Kind of shot down my hopes at modding haha. I'm to involved with some RTW mods that I'm making right now. This mod will once again have to wait until I have enough interest to finish it. I was literally all about M2TW a few days ago but now that zeal has returned to RTW. One of these days ha

    I know exactly how you feel- it's like me with all of the Bethesda games

    This mod sounds similar to mine (WIP), but I'm not asking you to join or anything...

    I think if you would want to make your own mod, then, like Giumbix said, there will need to be something special about your mod. But, if you feel like playing RTW instead, then that's fine too.
