    Default Gameplay preference sliders for TW Games? (unit speed, death frequency etc - THIS IS NOT ABOUT DIFFICULTY LEVEL)

    Anyone who plays Fifa knows that it has many sliders to control many different things from sprint speed to injury frequency - don't you guys think something similar would be great for TW games? We could control movement speed, death frequency and a whole ton of other things; it would be like having a built in modding suite.

    Thoughts?

    Edit: If you vote 'no', I'd be interested to hear your reasons.

    That's not a bad idea, maybe control campaign and battle AI aggressiveness, the handicap the AI (or the player) gets, the amount of disasters, disloyal generals, etc. that you experience in a campaign.

    Exactly - as I said, it'll be like an in game modding suite - everyone can have the game exactly as they want it. I really hope CA read this thread.

    I already mentioned sliders in one of my posts hid away in this forum somewhere. Good idea to simplify modding.

    Good point, many of the mods adjust simple things, would be nice to have them available from the start.

    i play fifa and i found the slider great for adjusting the difficulty

    also can have a bit of fan and a laugh with them too

    A Definite YES, especially if we talking about Realistic - Arcadey Sliders... something akin to IL2 Settings...

    Ending the countless Realistic vs. Gameplay flame wars...

    that would indeed be a very awesome feature. i do like the sound of natural disasters and the like. they really need to expand the advanced campaign settings as mentioned before.

    Yes. So that arcade players can play on S2TW speed while players like me can enjoy slower & gradual combat like in M2TW. After all it all depends on taste of the player.

    First I wonder why anyone would not want this? it would not hurt them.


    I think it would be awesome, if there were a option to be able to modify the kill rates, morale and the speed of units during battles. I feel the battles end to fast, there is little fighting than units break and run, also full armored units run across the map like gazelle, if these three could be modified than we could adjust the battles to our own preference.

    Because, if CA allowed sliders there would be no reason for them to try and balance the game.

    If you set your kill count to low and your routing to unlikely you would just be playing mosh pit simulator 3000.

    People would screw with these setting and wind up with a broken game. I would rather leave the stat tweaking to the modders.

    The vanilla game should be the same for everyone.

    Who is anyone harming if they decide to set the sliders to some extreme setting? No one - everyone should be able to play the game as they like and sliders are the single best way to easily change settings.

    As for people 'screwing with the settings', haven't you ever heard of a 'defaults' button?

    The question isn't do we really want 'sliders' as that one money lending advert annoying says. The real question is do we want more features to control campaigns such as movement speed, tech speeds, build times and as said many other things. Yes we all like to see these, if you don't like it then you need not take them off the default normal but it would make modding and custom games along with replayability a lot longer.

    I feel its unrealistic that full armor units can run 25mph across a battlefield,and can than cut down men it seems 5 at a time in less than 30 sec.

    How is it unrealistic allowing each gamer to customise the game to their own preferences? And adjusting sliders is much easier and convenient to have to start playing with .ini files.
