    Default Speculations on the map?

Personally I would like them to create and use a similar map to the one I created for my old mod res gestae for RTW ...

Spanning from spain to india and from Scandinavia to Central africa....

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=138262

There you go , finally on PC and able to post the right map ....

that is how should look the RTW map to me ... just would need to fix the proportions a bit , actually eastern part is stretched bigger than western part , I did this at the time to get more compatibility with the oroginal map and orientation ....

Fully agree with you there. A top class map is essential.

Agreed, without a map that will cover the known world of this time, it won't be possible to represent this era properly

The bigger the map the more you feel like you can conquer the known world during the Roman time frame.
Which is what was great about the RTR mod.

    Res Gestae's map for sure!

I really wonder why CA hasn't kidnapped you yet!

According to the interviews the map will expand eastwards. That is a good sign already. But the Indus valley would be enough for me - no need to include large parts of India, otherwise your map seems perfect.
I hope they will really think about going southwards to include Nubia and Arabia. These are two interesting areas with unique and exotic armies and factions.

I actually really like this idea but then again is there still a maximum faction number in tw games? If there is it would mean that there is less detail in the rest of the map and to me that would ruin some of the immersion but! If there is no maximum faction count then if CA have the time and the resources why not?

Edit: But saying this, I think I would prefer CA to put their resources into putting in more detail into the map they currently have and/or are making.

This is what happens when my thread on the Campaign map gets pushed back to page 3 or 4, where-ever it is now.

The map needs to have a large scale. Armies shouldnt be able to march from northern italy all the way south to Tarento in one turn, and there needs to be many many regions.

Yeah, so that means like what, 10 cities in Europe and huge lag?
Under the patronage of Emperor Maximinus Thrax
"Steps to be taken in case Russia should be forced out of war considered. Various movements [of ] troops to and from different fronts necessary to meeting possible contingencies discussed. Conference also weighed political, economic, and moral effect both upon Central and Allied powers under most unfavorable aspect from Allied point of view. General conclusions reached were necessity for adoption of purely defensive attitude on all secondary fronts and withdrawing surplus troops for duty on western front. By thus strengthening western front [those attending] believed Allies could hold until American forces arrive in numbers sufficient to gain ascendancy."

I think this map is smaller, it should extend further east to include part of India for trade nodes. and also it should have a greater area in North Africa and East Africa all the way down to Somalia. Those region could be traded with through the Red sea.

Well, that can be more reasonable if there is a good work.

What factions shall fight over scandinavia in the 3rd century BC? A single province in southern sweden would be enough as there were no major winter wars in Lapland during this era.

Well Mr.Norseman I'm not in the least bit surprised coming from someone with that username haha. In Medieval or Empire campaigns I usually play three and sometimes four factions overall and one Scandinavian country is one of them . But then again I am intrigued with the Norse and the impact they had on the culture of the British Isles although not in this time-frame I'd play as one of the them anyway....and my name having an Old Norse link to it probably has something to do with it too heh.
