Default Sarcosuchus Imperator, The Mega Croc alive and well?

In the midst of flipping through my favorite channels I came upon a documentary called Super Croc. As I am personally fascinated with Mega fauna I pulled up a chair and unlike times I spent watching shows on monster fish I was totally glued to the TV.

The show covered the story of two young girls boating to school in the Philippines, one of which lost their her life to the beast the authorities would attempt to hunt down. The story follows the trials of the hunt as trap after trap is totally destroyed, and the loss of one of their top croc hunters who died of exhaustion.

They finally find the beast they believe to be the killer who is also thought to have been a man eater before the incident with the girl, they decide to exploit the creature rather than kill it by relocating it to an eco-park in hopes it will give back to the community it has taken from through tourism.

This croc measured 21 feet! and over 2,300 lbs, but the story doesn't end... after pumping the stomach of this monster no human remains were found. This may not alone be cause for worry however the residents who depend on these croc invested waters, have reported to have seen yet another giant which may even be bigger still!

Judging by the photos and eye witness accounts of this yet undocumented mega beast it is potentially 29 feet long!

I honestly do not know how people could conduct their day to day lively hoods in the wake of such impending doom that could spring forth from the water and crush they and their tiny boats in one fell swoop.

So I began go on my own hunt, a hunt of ytube to see if there have been accounts of other super crocs and sure enough there are several!

I will leave you with the video of the story I recapped above. I have to wonder though before the wide spread human development of the industrial age would this be any surprise? Go back a couple of thousand years surely beasts such as these must have inspired myth and legend no?

Here's a Mega Croc from Africa said to have taken 300 human lives, his name is Gustav, 60 years old and 20 ft long.

Just listen to the bellows on this behemoth @187s

He's so huge he even scares Hippos which normally kill crocs. In the video above, you can see him right next to a pack of hippos who are guarding their young from him.

    He doesn't give a !

With all of man's knowledge, there is still quite a bit we dont know. There are at least a couple of supposedly extinct sharks that have been found in the last 30 years or so, and it wasnt that long ago they found one of those giant squids that was like 30 feet long.

Sounds very similar to that grizzly oversized subspecies of brown bear on Kodiak.

Male saltwater crocodiles routinely grow to 16ft in length. Indeed, reptiles do not have a limit on growth in the same way as humans, they basically keep on growing as long as they live, so a large 90 or 100 year old male would be expected to reach 20ft. And given that these are ordinary sizes, a rare extraordinary croc could easily reach 25ft. There are some pretty reliable reports of crocs reaching over 20ft: certainly there was a dead one measured scientifically estimated at 21ft, and many more less verifiable reports of ones reaching up to 25 or more. Anything in excess of 30ft is probably impossible, but it is not outwith the realms of possibility for there to have been a near 30ft saltwater crocodile at some stage, maybe with some form of gigantism or in an exceptionally good habitat away from humans and with a lot to eat.

Sarcosuchus grew to 40ft in length, which is far bigger than even a mythical saltwater croc. I don't think there are reports of a croc that big even in the most exaggerated stories of phillipino fishermen.
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

Well not only stories from the Philippines, I wonder if Ancient Egypt documented crocodile size.

Just give those crocs a healthy diet and feed them growth hormones, and you will have your 40 feet croc soon enough.

Here's Lolong the Super Croc from the documentary I watched, it was crazy they had to transport him on a make shift stretcher across the swamp lands and at one point they lost control of him dropping him in the water and another time he almost broke free just wiggling.

The craziest thing though was seeing those helpers of the croc hunters clear their boats which were getting stuck in the lilys in the middle of the night. They were out with spot lights and the propellers would jam so the men would jump off the side of the little boats and clear them out in the dark waters.... no freaking way you could pay me to do something like that with any size croc about!

One can dream right? Mesoamerican religions talked of a giant crocodile that was or turned into the earth, no doubt because of the simliarities between a crocodiles back and the mountain ranges of the region, among others, But I still like to think that there was or is some kind of super croc out there, being super.
Also that first vid you posted? from the thumb I couldnt believe it was real, god. Hell, are they the same crocs? cause the latter just looks fake man.

The photo on Nat Geo? That's definitely from the documentary I saw about Lolong. The second video I posted was of Gustav in Africa who is 20 ft.

So apparently saltwater crocs can reach 23 ft at least that's what the records say for captivity. So to see these in the wild is something special.

I imagine in places where they don't have the capability to hunt them or were it is illegal such as was the case in the Philliphines a 23 ft croc is probable. Also assuming their own competition, territory and food supply has something to do with it. From what I have heard crocs have super antibodies so very little harms them otherwise.

I posted two videos (see link in post 3) anyway not sure why it looks different, just see if you can catch the documentary and you'll see how big it is when they drop him into the river by accident lol.

Oh I didnt remember the one about Gustav, its just that in the philippino one (which Im pretty sure is indonesia) the Crocodiles look some what different in size, maybe because of the Angle, in which case the second angle looks hilariously big.

0:00 to 0:50 is definitely Lolong, the Filipino kind, not sure where 0:50 and the rest are, I think its a different croc altogether, I picked the differing accent as well, I mean sure Agusan Del Sur is in Mindanao but they dont have Indonesian accents.

    Oh yeah, about the name....

The crocodile is named after Ernesto "Lolong" Goloran Caņete, one of the veteran crocodile hunters from the Palawan Crocodile and Wildlife Reservation Center who led the hunt.[11] After weeks of stalking, the hunt for Lolong took its toll on Caņete's health. He died of a heart attack several days before the crocodile was captured.

We use feet in Britain for measuring animal length. The average man is just under 6 ft, so it gives you a real sense of size when you compare that with 20ft or 30ft. A 30ft croc would be 5 times the length of a man.
