Underhand Tactics?

I just bumped into a guy who beat me as much by confusion as anything else, and good luck to him, I'm not knocking him and I must confess quite a novel idea.

Well before battle, as the armies are vying for position I see he has musketmen, naginatas etc.
Then in the heat of battle when the cavalry are going full tilt at each other and in a scrum of melee infantry, everywhere my cavalry turn there are Yari Hero's, it confused the crap outta me I couldn't work out which way to turn.

After the battle I check the unit stats and he's fielding like 10 units of Yari Hero's, I scratch my head a moment and then realise he's named every unit "Yari Hero".

How I never noticed when we were squaring up I'll never know.

I LMAO!!

As I said, good luck to the bloke.

I wondered if you guys have ever come up against some... let's say...unusual tactics?

A lot of people name their units after other units to confuse the enemy. Naming your archers "yari ashigaru" is one of the most popular examples of that.

I actually hate that people do this. I don't get caught by it much anymore but its a cheesy messed up tactic.

I must confess I found it cheesy and underhanded too but quite novel.
It's a shame that some folk feel the need to do this to win but I guess they must say "all's well in love and war".

Hopefully I won't run into it again, especially in a clan match, or if I do I'll be better prepared.

Fool me once, shame on....

Part of the MP community apparently frowns upon going for the objective. Killing the enmy general or capturing all dojo's? What a bastard!

If u consider naming units to with another unit, which is well allow within the game, an underhand tactic, then gen sniping is the same. Since most gen sniper know quite well how absurdly gen lost can affect morale.

Or will u give that "all is fair in war speech"? If it is then deception by renaming and blacken flag fall under the same category.

Capping all dojos is to prevent another cheap tactic which is redline camping. You shouldnt lump that with gen sniping

Black on black mons unfair? Hover over it to see the unit type and stats.
Renamed units unfair? The correct name is in massive bold while the vet name is in smaller lettering
Dojo timer unfair? Quit corner camping and contest the dojo's
Gen sniping unfair? Protect your gen, its not his fault you brought no skirmishers

Lol, i see no point to complain, sorry.
The game give u the option to re-name vets. Why ?....
If u pay more attention next time, u always see the real units name/type;
Also, go on game option and be sure u have marked "show card units always"!
Any player try to win - some like to rush, other to camp, other to snipe your gen. But each tactic have a counter. So, no point to complain just bc u do not pay attention to the game.
