    A Game of Thrones: 10
A Clash of Kings: 9 (Slow start and slow chapters for Dany)
    A Storm of Swords: 10
A Feast for Crows: 7 (Slow and lacking the characters which make aSoIaF awesome )
A Dance with Dragons: 8-9 (Awesome characters, just wish they were going somewhere )

Game of Thrones Season 1: 10
Game of Thrones Season 2: 9 (Awesome cast continues, Blackwater was brilliant and the Soundtrack is beautiful but Dany and Theon's plot changes drag it down - at least Theon got a good speech .)

    A Game of Thrones: 9
    A Clash of Kings: 8.5
A Storm of Swords: 9.5 (almost perfect)
A Feast for Crows: 7.5 (least of the books imo)
A Dance with Dragons: 8 (not really worth the long wait, but still a very good book)

Game of Thrones Season 1: 9 (great season and actors)
Game of Thrones Season 2: 7.5 (varying season, with a bad episode 8 and an absolute brilliant episode 9)

more or less what Dux said..even though i'd rate, tv season 2 a bit lower, cause it just felt like a soap-opera, contrary to the great first one!

    A Game of Thrones: 9
    A Clash of Kings: 8.5
A Storm of Swords: 9.5 (almost perfect)
A Feast for Crows: 7.5 (least of the books imo)
A Dance with Dragons: 8 (not really worth the long wait, but still a very good book)

Game of Thrones Season 1: 9 (great season and actors)
Game of Thrones Season 2: 6

A Game of Thrones: 8 (don't like introductions, but it was good enough)
A Clash of Kings: 9 (because of the Davos, Theon and Tyrion chapters... and Halfhand)
    A Storm of Swords: 9.5
    A Feast for Crows: 8
A Dance with Dragons: 9 (Reek, The Wall)

Game of Thrones Season 1: 8
Game of Thrones Season 2: 9 (no 10 because they butchered Halfhand, still a good watch)

A Game of Thrones: 9,5 Very, very good, some minor complaints but really minor. Excellent in most areas. POVs that continue one on another, plot that connects like puzzle, politics, battles. Perhaps a bit stuffed intro but on reread its gold.
A Clash of Kings: 9 Also very good, but drags a bit (Dany). Still excellent, and Arya becomes multiple times more interesting on rereads. Tyrion in his finest. Theon, Arya also really excellent, even Bran isn't boring here.
    A Storm of Swords: 9,9.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Plot is mindblowing(nuff said), characters are developing(Jaime, Stannis) politics(Tyrion, Purple Wedding), action(Wall, Slaver's Bay(yeah, i actually said that), RW). The only minor complaint is Bran(not really into warging and stuff).

    A Feast for Crows: 7
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Interesting: politics in KL, Cersei, Jaime(although drags a little). Boring: Brienne, Aeron, Areo Hotah, Sam and such. The rest is good(although i hate Littlefinger, he is still interesting). Book feels a bit empty after you read it first time, but improves on rereads.

    A Dance with Dragons: 6
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Sigh. Definitely weakest in the series. Whole Essos continent with the exception of Bravoos is booooring. Tyrion counts turtle species and Ilyrio's foods while riding a pig. Dany finally fails, and really fails, but way too much chapters spent on her. Quentyn is as boring as he is needless. Barristan has one good moment in the book. Nobody achieves anything. Editing is almost nonexistant. Repeating frases, pissing and food lists take the pages that could be used to resolve at least few cliffhangers. And took 6 years to write. If i had waited all that time, i would rate it lower. But there are many good stuff-all on Westeros is good except Jaime chapter and Jon's ending. Theon is equal quality as first three books. Davos excellent. Jon is very good. Arya and Asha too. The conclusion is that Essos POVs need to be killed off or returned to Westeros. Heads need to roll, and junk must be cut if GRRM means to finish ASOIAF himself.

GOT seasons: Didn't watch it all, but season 1 significantly better than season 2. Of course books are far above both, but GOT is far above most book adaptations.

A Game of Thrones: 9.0 Great political backstabbing, build up to CoK
A Clash of Kings: 10.0 Best book in series
A Storm of Swords: 8.5 Still pretty damn good
    A Feast for Crows: 7.0
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Booooooooooorrrrrrriiiiiiinnnnnnnngggggggg (I was actually hoping Brienne was dead )

A Dance with Dragons: 7.5 Slight improvement, not worth my time unless Winds of Winter is vastly improved

Season 1: 10.0 Amazing in nearly every aspect, identical to the books plot, no random crap added in, got me to read the awesome books, excellent performances from the actors
Season 2: 6.5 I DON'T WANT TO SEE BAELISH'S HOOKERS FOR 20 MINUTES A GOD DAMN EPISODE! (Amongst other things)

Although I enjoyed episode 9 more than any other GoT episode of both seasons (there's a reason, GRRM didn't butcher his own story, what a surprise!). HBO wanted to condense a 1000 page novel that had many intersecting plot lines (rather than the two plot lines of season 1) into 10 episodes. It was stupid not to split CoK into two seasons, as they pretty much butchered what should have been the best season of the series, and unfortunately, their stupidity almost makes the awesome Battle of the Blackwater not even worth watching, due to the rest of the season's inferiority. The Catelyn, Robb, Jon, Theon (ugh, wtf happened to Reek?), and of course, Dany story arcs were butchered more than any other, which is the other half of characters.

My uncle, who never read the books, but convinced me to watch season 1 while he watched it, even said it was horrible and a huge letdown, without the knowledge of how much of the story was changed.

Well, enough ranting about season 2 for me.
Rep me and I'll rep you back.

the reason why i gave season2 of GOT a 6 is beacause it could have been better , insted it had useles scenes ex: jon draging igrette for a couple of episodes just for kiks , another reason why i didn't like the 2nd season is beacause the storyline in qarth int wasn't all that intresting and adapted in the tvs series poorly with the theft of the dragons , with xaro beeing king of qarth, and the vision of daenerys that was so awesome in the books turned into an image of a frozen hall and the part in the tent porrle adapted , also the story of arrya with som useles seens again and no character development for arya , there at harrenhal she was suposed tho develop in a more cold person to the point where she kills a guard and she says to a friends :oh it's just some blood the rain will wash it away

Season two I like, and thought was great, but I thought the pacing was a bit slow, - and I hated the marketing.
Feast and Dance were too dull in some parts, more like travel guides than novels.
BTW, I ranked the books relative to one another- I still think Feast and Dance are fantastic books.

    GOT: 8.5
    COK: 10
    SOS: 9.5
AFFC: 7.5 (Cersei and Brienne were such chores to get through, but I liked Dorne and Braavos)
    ADWD: 8.5

    Season 1: 7.5
    Season 2: 8

Show is nowhere near as good as other HBO shows. Dany is annoying, Jon is an idiot, Catelyn's arc is too derivative for me to like. Tyrion (despite Dinklage's overacting) and the Stannis/Davos scenes were the only things keeping me interested for season 2.

A Game of Thrones: 10 Excellent, not fast enough for some readers, but perfect for people like me who focus more on the slow political intrigue and such.

A Clash of Kings: 10 Wonderful, of course. Great mix of political and action.

A Storm of Swords: 8 Very good as well, but pointless adventures of Bran are pointless, and the total removal of Tyrion's power in King's Landing was disappointing. I hated the Red Wedding, loved it, but hated it at the same time. You should know what I mean.

A Feast for Crows: 7.5 Reading Cersei go off the deep end was entertaining for me at least, but yet again... Pointless adventures of Bran are pointless. Tyrion gets endlessly screwed, Sansa gets screwed, Cersei tries to screw everyone and ends up getting screwed. Fun stuff, overall.

A Dance With Dragons: 8.5 I actually liked this book more then a Storm of Swords. Dany, despite ultimately failing in Mereen, learns quite a few things about ruling that she needs if she wants to rule Westeros. Tyrion is pointless in this book, unfortunately, eating food, riding pigs, and just barely starting to conspire for Dany when the book ends. Bran is still north of the Wall doing only the Seven know what, Jon enjoyed a cold shower of steel, and Arya continues learning how to kill people more easily. Rather pointless, as a previous guy said, like a travel guide, but for some reason I was still riveted.

Season 1: 10 Excellent casting, acting, sets, special effects, stayed true to the story while adding a few cool bits and pieces like the conversation between Jaime and Tywin. Ned getting offed was done well, hated Joff like I was supposed to, good stuff.

Season 2: 8 Meh. Blackwater was fantastic. The rest... Well... I was hoping for Ramsay Snow to show up and shut Theon up, I was so bored of the little Greyjoy jerk. Emilia Clarke, while she looks the part, really kinda butchered Dany this season. She seems to and irritating, which she wasn't in the books. Meh.

Game of Thrones Season 2: 8.5

I've only read up to the first two books, and although I prefer them 100x over the tv series, the episodes brought nice little changes and it was great seeing the books come to life although they were tampered with a bit.

The first season was and probably will be the best season of all because it was easier to convert it into a TV show, but the rest will have to be changed a bit so as to avoid confusion and countless plots throughout Westeros.

Con: Dany should have reached Westeros by now, Quentyn was dull, actually all the Martells are just mehh, since Oberyn died, john dies at the end. Pro: Aegon Blackfyre , Brynden Bloodraven Rivers , the Dunk and (easter) Egg(s), Reek and the ghost, Frey Pie!, Victarion and his black flame, Stann the Mann, Mance Abel, The person formally known as Arya, Bran (the dark one???), Cersei (finally) getting what she deserves, Varys changing the game (again). just so much.

Game of Thrones Season 1: 8.5
Game of Thrones Season 2: 5.5

The first season was good, but not the greatest. I was that guy, pointing out everything that they took out of the show/changed, for no good reason

Really, Tyrion killed a guy with a shield? just completely unnecessary changes like that.
    NO LOVE FOR THE BLACKFISH.

The Blackwater was great. Dat Tyrion. No clue why Stannis couldn't have his trademark 'chops and beard/flame crown/lightbringer. No clue why they changed Robb's love interest. The Dany arc, wut. The John arc, wut. Theon arc, wut. Asha completely miscast. pointless changes like that. Instead of condensing everything into one season, it should have been split into two. waste of potential.
