Please help before i will smash my pc!

Steam platform is the worst desision CA made for its games EVER!!
So here is the problem.
I made a format of my pc.
I have a retail version of Shogun II plus i bought RoS expansion.
I re installed Steam ,conected to my acount and then proceed to the game instalation from the two disks.
After instalation was completed steam downloaded files for almost 3 hours.
I assumed that it was the improvent packs and my expansion.
Then when dowloading was finished i pressed the shortcut to play the game.
NOTHING!
So i payed money for a game and its expansion and i CAN NOT play it when ever i want!!!
So before i smash my pc on my anger can someone offer me a solution?

Contact Steam library to see if it's in there. If not, contact Steam support with the original email and its activation code.

Don't install from disks. Only activate the game on steam and completely install from there.

W7 Ultimate and i installed the Steam and game in D disc instead of C.

It should not make any difference which drive.

It's Steam being its usual stupid self. Do it A Barbarian's way and hopefully it turns out okay.

NOTHING!
When i select The Shogun II shortcut it activates Steam's winbot.exe something and the process stops there!
CA I WANT MY GAME BACK OR MY MONEY BACK !!!

I just got W7 HE 64 bit myself, and I don't have winbox.exe in my system 32. So there may be a conflict with steam here.

The bleeping computer thinks winbox is a trojan.

Have a check in your config under startup and if winbot is there then disable it.

I have talked to a lawyer and he said that i can move legaly against both CA and Steam simply because i DO NOT have 100% access to my game that i payed.

CA Developers hang out at http://forums.totalwar.com, not in this backwater site. If they did, odds are GED would have already got an earful from them about your last post.

after installing on steam, quit from steam, restart your computer, open steam, let it login and load ect, then try, It worked for me when I had the same problem for a different game.
