Icon5 Need a new computer, not a clue where to look.

Hi, I'll just start off by saying that I will not attempt to make my own computer from different parts. Jaketh sent me a list of items a few weeks ago and after an exhausting search I haven't found 80% of them in my area, the other 20% were actually a lot more expensive than on the list.

But I am going to need a new computer, my last one died yesterday when I tried to do a yearly reďnstall windows vista (yes, I know... but it's the only latest version compatible with my Mobo) to keep my computer running smooth. That requires a reboot, however since we did some makeshift repairs on it when it died last year (a "new" 9400GT graphics card upgrade to replace the dead 8800GT one), it crashes everytime I try to reboot it. Doesn't matter for what it's for, a reboot automatically follows with a black screen and the sounds indicating there's something wrong with the GFX. I never bothered with it until now. It's now stuck in the reďnstallation process and I had to bring it away to the tech wizards (great name for a computer store btw ) to get it fixed.

I realise now that it's probably going to cost me more to keep it running than buying a new one. So here we are. I need a relatively new computer that lasts me another 3 years, one that is a fast gaming PC. I prefer Intel and Nvidia because I have more experience with those.

I'm mostly looking for advice on which one I should take, I'll look for some and post some links here that look okay to me.

Right now I found this that sort of stretches my price range:

And these two that are really stretching it:

They are all in dutch unfortunately, but it's the tech specifics that matter right? An SSD right now is not required as I am planning on upgrading the PC with it in two years when the prices have hopefully dropped and there are bigger SSD's available. Hope I won't have to expect a great change when going from Intel to AMD and such, I liked the simplicity...

Hope you guys can help me out with this.

I'll be honest the only one of those worth getting is the 3rd one.

But its too expensive in my opinion. Frankly Jaketh is right and everyone else here will tell you to build one. Its also my recommendation to build one.

You might try asking some of the dutch guys on Overclock.net where to find parts and good prices.

Yeah I thought they'd be more expensive, but like I said I can't look for the parts. I just need advice on wheter they will last me for another three years, hell the one I brought away today had 2 year old specifics when I bought it and it performed alot better than anyone thought it would. So it doesn't matter if the technology is from last year or something.

Another reason why I'd rather buy it in one package is that I can get taxbonuses if I buy it one piece. My dad can buy it through his company and he can get the 19% of the price back through tax refund. But buying al those different parts is going to be too much.

Yes that computer will last you 3 years. Here is the thing. I find that prebuilt PC's have bad power supplies. It might be worth your time investing in a power supply that is a good quality and replace the power supply in the computer. It would be well worth your time to do so.

the GTX 560 is a GOOD mid ranged card

the intel 2500k is a GREAT gaming processor

8 GB of DDR3 @ 1600mhz is fine (I run my memory at 1600mhz and you'll never use 8 anyway)

500 GB HDD might be too small but its fine for most people. Personally my video game collection on steam is 480 GB so it would be too small for me but for most people its more than enough.

It has 2 PCIE 2.0 slots which means if you ever wanted to run dual graphics cards you could.

750 watt Combat Power voeding met een super stille 140mm ventilator = I dont know Combat Power as a PSU supplier 750 watts is more than enough to run that system but Id ask someone in germany or the netherlands how good that brand is.

Overall if you're NOT wanting to build one yes this is actually a good choice.

Thanks alot! I'll think about what you said about the power supply some more, but I could always just upgrade that in a year if it turns out it's not good enough right? In any case, you really helped me out with this. +rep
