    Default [Proposal] Two weeks/year

I believe it was proposed by someone (an outsider, I think) in the OOC thread that there be 2 weeks/1 year, instead of the usual 1 week/1 year scheme we have going now. In light of so many lengthy absences (Jakev/Shankbot/Paladin) and activity drops (Jakev/Bonez) just as the game is starting, this is actually starting to look like a pretty good idea for me, as it buys time for those guys to get their feet on the ground instead of being left in the dust (most are gone for 2-3 weeks anyway, so the extended year + their return will match up perfectly). Plus it means more time for longer RPs (and they can get quite long in my experience) without needing to timewarp stuff.

So, what do you guys think. Good idea? Bad? Discuss.

While it may be a good thing, there is also the risk of the slowdown of years backfiring and killing the game.
It would encourage more rp imo, so it could be worth a shot.

I'm against a slowdown. They can catch up even for 1-2 weeks missed.

The 2 week extension we took in GoT 2.0 killed the game, before we made 3.0.

Again it comes back to dedication of activity. Unless providing adequate time, it's not wise to take a major player in the game, imo.

Summer Work/Vacation... Then once that's over, it's a new school year, college for some of you.

There is no good time period to play this game for extended periods of time. We all have differing lives and activity. Myself, I'm done school, as well as post-secondary, and I work fulltime, at a job which allows me to come on here quite frequently. My activity will never be an issue I assure you.

But I don't see this as a good fix, extending the weeks. Sure their vacas will finish, but then the next thing will force them inactive.. School. So it doesn't really matter. IMO, if you can't dedicate the appropriate amount of time, mayhaps give your position to a more active player? Just a courtesy move, such as what Ulti, and Bjorn did.

RP is already lacking for the beginning of a new RPG..

The only thing going on is the formation of an alliance between the Gardeners and the Daynes, with Narf's chars. And whatever Xion and LM are doing in Essos. That's all really.

We extend it now.. Then the other half the players go on vaca when the other ones get back.. It'll be a continuous cycle. Once school begins for the players, activity will drop again probably. So I don't see the point in going 2wks/year, besides the fact we'll never get to play the economy in this game, because the finances are too restrictive and simple. Should take into consideration, of perhaps expanding the games economy components, such as TRS RPG has a pretty complex economy, but it keeps it interesting, makes you think instead of..

"Buy 1 Castle Upgrade -XXXX gold", done.

    Just my opinion

Don't know about anyone else, but I have more time during the school year for all of this type of stuff. During the summer my dad is doing projects on the house/around the house outside. I have a job that keeps me busy etc... During school once I get home most of the time I'm free to roam and do whatever.

I have always been for a week for each season as I really think time goes too fast. So yes, I support this as it is a step in the right direction.

Plus it's the start (and, obviously, end) of school years, from what I've seen, that are the rockiest periods in time. Everyone usually takes up the first week of school to get settled in, and from there it's smooth sailing until the few weeks leading up to the end. With a 2-week system, that first week can be covered no problem.

I'm cool with the 2 weeks thing, but I dont have time/dedication for a more complex ecom.

Aight, 9 to 5 (6 + Martin, Shankbot, and Agg, who's informed me of his agreement over PM). I think it's safe to say this has passed.
