Commissioned by Consul Gaius Marius Aquila earlier in 85 BCE, the design of the Pantheon has recently been finalized and the building is being constructed in the Circus Flaminius, the northwestern part of Rome. Being massive and ornate, as befits a temple to all the great Roman gods, the Pantheon will take two years to construct, even with good Roman construction techniques.
