Exactly that's what I mean. Has CA given any further support regarding that or is officially confirmed that is impossible?

Aren't they still working on the modding kit? I'm sure they'd add a feature like that in if enough people wanted.

Problem is, it appears I'm the only bumping around for this, out of it's million consumers.

You could try talking to one of the CA representatives. Adding new battles maps would be essential for mods that take place outside of Japan.

...The other problem is, that also only a few willing TWC members with expertise and the tools to accomplish it. So far, The progress in this thread is on the hands of just 2 person.

I blame Rome 2. People are too concerned with it to take advantage of the mod tools.

We're secretly waiting for Rome II's Mod Tools.

I mean Shogun 2 is weird. It's all Samuraish. Even the Modern Era western stuff is weird.

Seems like most modders left the plane long time ago like i did.
Its really awkward. I've waited since the release of ETW for modding tools, I even did modding with nothing more than a hexeditor back in the days, and now that tools are released most former active modders dont seem to care too much about it.

If we use the mod tools we could make it less weird for you guys

Or at least make some mods set in China

Which is sad, because I was excited when they announced it. I thought I was gonna see dozens of brilliant mods.

To be fair they're probably busy with Rome 2 at the moment.

Which in return will cause the company to not make any more mod tools, which in return will make people angrier wanting to mod their games.... ad nauseum.

I have a feeling Rome 2 is gonna be even less modable than Shogun and Empire/Napoleon were.

Motivations for modders to mod surely are varied but one thing is they gotta have passion for a certain era or theater, unfortunately although samurai is cool and all, for the veteran modders out there who have made a name for themselves, very few are fans of the Sengoku Jidai as far as I know hence you got from some of them stats mod or textures or mashing of units to make mounted ninjas. But rarely will you see them post one japanese name unless its the name of the starting general in vanilla.

But I'm confident a new generation of Shogun 2 modders will crop up. This time FANS of the Sengoku Jidai, like Hayabusa Sushi, hell I did not expect Tenka Fubu mod to crop up and so professionally done in a short span of time from preview thread to release.

You might be saying, "yawn more japan centric mods with lots weird names and , when are we going to get the obligatory LOTR/GOT/EUROCENTRIC mod". I cant say but hey at least us sengoku otakus will be happy.

Hence I* must inspire all those new users out there entering in the foray of modding, with visions to make the 100 plus provinces a reality, to make every major clan have 2 or 3 vassal clans around him, to FINALLY fix that goddamn bishamonten kamon of vanilla Uesugi, to have more varied sashimono in one unit alone and finally more kabutos.

And I Rommel will always be there to provide pictures of samurai in fundoshi to scar there innocent minds and make them work for me and my agenda to make Sengoku Basara the Shogun 2 mod a reality.

    *hubris

(Its clickable by the way....An S2 overhaul mod.)

Seriously. Click it. Its the only overhaul mod that's overhauling enough to bring out NEW clans

Nobody knows Opium War, other than general details, who was the Qing emperor blah blah and does not illicit alot of excitement other than cool manchu hats and the 8 banner army.

Maybe a mod that goes from the Sino-Japanese war to the Boxer Rebellion and Russo-Japanese war

Boxer rebellion would be incredibly interesting, especially with possible use of German Empire, France, USA, British Empire, Russia and Austria-Hungary all in one giant campaign against the boxers.
