It looks extremely well for 1860, since that part of the world had been closed off for so long. I believe Korea doesn't open its borders mid 1870s.
Who does the Purple belong to? It should be Qing China, or is it disputed between Russia and the Chinese?
Also Sakhalin appears to be Japanese, although it is just the south and techiqually according to the Treaty of Shimoda the southern half was unofficially placed in Japan's sphere.
What is that sectioned off portion of Shandong? Is it German Qingdao? Because that didn't happen until like the 1890s.
Are you sure its from 1860?

Yes a very nice map. I'm aware that the Ottomans had unusually good maps for the time, like this one..

I demand this thread to steer to the Dokdo/Takeshima Island and Senkaku/Diaoyutai Island debate and troll fest.

The purple area, I believe, represents territory in the process of being transferred to Russia under the 1858 treaty of Aigun.

Russia did not get territory of Liaoning Jilin Heilongjaing, that area would be controlled by China even though Russia and Japan would contest for influence in that area at the turn of the century.

Not my cup of tea. Besides. Rome II does not have one thing that would have made it epic and on par with Shogun II.

    They have no Date Masamune.

You could think of Marcus Junius Brutus the Younger as Date Masamune, with Gaius Julius Caesar playing the role of the Jinbo clan in the theatrum pompeium/siege of osaka .

...yes it may be a stretch. He does not have the Masamune flair.

    I always liked Alexander Severus.

"Whats this? Rommel knows obscure Roman emperors as well?"

Hehehe, but its difficult to memorize the Roman names. Seriously. Really really difficult.

    AHAHA.

If CA really does implement the front rank rotation drill.....does that mean they paid attention to that old thread we had...called "Katana samurai should have fire by rank"?

The Ottomans Vs the Japanese, that would make an interesting battle.
Theirs alot of history we don't really know about and alot of it is controlled by the people in power.

Well the Ottomans controlled the trade between East and West for several centuries. It's not strange they had a more detailed knowledge about the east tan Europeans.
