    Default New pc

    Hello fellow TWC forum users,

I am new here, and I wanted to ask if someone could give me some advise for a nice total war pc. I've read the help forums but they seem to be a little outdated, so I thought: I just create a new topic.
My budget is about 750 euros, I live in the Netherlands and I use my pc most to play games, and most times it's a total war game. I would like to play fall of the samurai as high as possible, and I hope it's possible to make it quite futureproof with Rome II coming up.

    Thanks already for your help!

If you are willing to take time to learn how to build a PC online it can be quite worth it.

I can only think to use this guide if you can spare a budget of $1400:
    http://www.maximumpc.com/article/fea..._2000?page=0,2

Or this one for a $1000:
    http://www.theverge.com/2011/12/19/2...uild-gaming-pc

And this is a good general guide:
    http://edge-cache.lifehacker.com/lif...ght-School.pdf

The most important thing is a good graphics card. To compare competing cards, use this:
    http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/

One other thing is that you don't necesarily need the highest quality parts and this can bring down the price quite a bit. However, it does increase the risk of faster breakdowns and needing to use warranties. You can always overclock your card, but this immediately violates the warranties.

    Good luck.

Ok, thank you very much! I think the second link is the one that seems to be the most interesting for me, as 1000 dollars is about 800 euros.

Why would you ask for rep? I am sure that if he had enough posts to give you rep, and if he thought that your post was helpful, he would.

most of that info is good except the videocard benchmark link Passmark is utterly worthless garbage for GPU comparisons

look up reviews on various GPUs

    check

    Techpowerup
    Guru3D
    AnandTech

    for reviews on Graphics cards.

a proper location aka where your located would be helpful as depending on region Canada, USA, UK, Germany etc effects where to get parts from.
With a proper location more help from various people on these forums is more likely to happen.

If you are Dutch, Azerty.nl and Alternate.nl are the to-go to places (choose the one which is cheaper for you specific build). You can build it yourself, or you can let them build it for you for a fee.
