    Icon6 General Experience Gains (Shogun 2, ROTS, FOTS)

    Thought I should share this, as I know it's been in demand.

    I finally manged to figure out how to "fix" the very low experience gain of supporting generals. Getting rid of the need to split off generals from the main army to make them gain a measly 3 XP instead of the 1 they would get if staying with the army.

    This mod will give the general in charge 10 XP, and any supporting general 7 XP, no matter if they are reinforcements or included in the main army. This goes for the player as well as for the computer.

    The double XP version will give 20 XP to the general in charge, and 15 to supporting generals.

    It will be included in my next update of the Vragos Campaign, but here it is as a stand-alone.

    Works for the original campaign, ROTS and FOTS. Thanks to jcraven33 for testing.

    Pick either the normal or the double XP file.
    It is movie format, so just unpack it to the data folder.

    No problem. It's the least I can do for your help. Will try your campaign mod out once I get a little better at the game in general. Your mod certainly seems geared at more experienced players although I am sure I would be able to appreciate the vast amount of changes just as much

    For those who want to know what the problem was, it was actually in the script. As a supporting general was required to participate and win the battle, but only a leading general can win or loose a battle - so the XP bonus never triggered.

    Great job with this, I've been waiting for something like this for a while. But do you know how to fix the thing where the daimyo can only gain honor if he's in a battle by himself? Because I can never get the Daimyo to gain any honor while in a supporting army.

    I'm pretty sure that the honor gains only happens after the daimyo himself leads a battle which ends in a heroic victory. Since honor gains have to be kinda hard to get, I think that is working as intended. I havn't seen the script entry for it, but if I find it I'll let you know.

    Wow. Finally someone did this. So annoying having to pull the other generals out of the main army every time. Good job!

    Do you just drop this into data folder?

    Yep, it is in movie format, so just drop it in the data folder.

    Hello,
    I'm writing here because I just tested this mod, and it's giving me weird problems.
    I start a new campaign with Chosokabe and the first thing I notice is that there are no rebels at the first turn like it should be. Later, after like 3 or 4 turns at most, all of the enemies daimyos died at once. There's is clearly something wrong with my game because this has been posted 10 days ago and no one reported a bug yet. Any idea?

    Sounds like a scripting error - I saw similar errors occur while I was testing the mod. I'll run another test. Are you sure your game is updated to the latest patch? I can't think of any other reason your scripts wouldn't work when it does for everyone else.

    Love your tiny mod Seeing the AI had already the same behaviour, I wouldn't consider it a cheat if the player does so as well.
    Haven't tried it in my finished FotS campaign, but in my current RotS game it's working as intended.

    Oh, was wondering what's the purpose of the numbers in the first row, as you changed some of them? (exp_triggers_tables)

    Those numbers are wrongly set to be floats by the PFM, they are actually integers. That is why they show up as xxxxE-XX. However, they are not used directly by the game, but only for the automated scripts that CA generates. So any changes you want to make, you have to make to the scripts directly.

    Well, I got it to work flawlessly. Now I have another problem. I get a +25% bonus to both arts that I do not want, how's that possible? This is the only mod I have.

    I believe that's a vanilla affect. Have you tried loading the same game without the mod?

    Yes, this definitely was my bad. I have been playing vanilla Shogun 2 and I didn't know about the +25% base bonus of FOTS, I now tried without the mod and I still have the bonus.
