How to Patch 2.1

I have dl 2.1 patch and extracted the files but where do I put them once I extract? Which files do I replace?

NVM need helping patching to 2.5, where is the directory I need to point it out too? I dont understand what you mean?


NVM cant even get it to play on 2.0, keep getting error 12 message, it was a clean install and installed it in the right place, so idk

Error : You are able to play the game, but a window with a red cross and 12 appears.
Solution : You don't have admin rights. Right click on the shortcut and then click Run as Admin, a permanent fix is to go into properties and have the launcher autimatically ask for adminastation right.

When you install the patch somewhere, you should have several folders like data, play_****, ...
Copy all of those, and paste them in your RS folder, where the data, play_**** folders and the exe are.
You should merge the folders, and then overwrite the files.

ya I have tried, I dont know what I am doin wrong, I really appreciate your help but I am afraid I am giving up I have uninstalled and re installed the whole game 3 times re downloaded the patch and everything. I have played stainless steel, and all the DM mods and never once had so much trouble.......my game is patched to 1.5. I know I am messing up somewhere but I just am giving up lol
