Default No evidences suggest mermaid exist - US government said

And if you ask why US government needs to make a declaration for that it is apartly because too many Americans believe it exists by watching TV.

There is no evidence that mermaids exist, a US government scientific agency has said.

The National Ocean Service made the unusual declaration in response to public inquiries following a TV show on the mythical creatures.

It is thought some viewers may have mistaken the programme for a documentary.

"No evidence of aquatic humanoids has ever been found," the service wrote in an online post.

The National Ocean Service posted an article last week on its educational website, Ocean Facts.

Images and tales of mermaids - half-human, half-fish - appear in mythology and art from across the world and through history, from Homer's Odyssey to the oral lore of the Australian aboriginals, the service wrote.

The article was written from publicly available sources because "we don't have a mermaid science programme", National Ocean Service spokeswoman Carol Kavanagh told the BBC.

She said that at least two people had written to the agency asking about the creatures.

The inquiries followed May's broadcast of Mermaids: The Body Found, on the Discovery Channel's Animal Planet network.

The programme was a work of fiction but its wink-and-nod format apparently led some viewers to believe it was a science education show, the Discovery Channel has acknowledged.

Or just watch this video: It explains everything. If your not convinced after this then your part of the cover-up or your blind. Literally blind. Seriously. You should see an eye doctor. But you prob wont be able to see the doctor because your blind. So ask someone to take you to the doctor.

Pretty sure Fox News has never done a story on mermaids being real. Seems more like a CBS story to me.

The surgeon general came out today and said that eating 68 hotdogs in 10 minutes is also bad for your health. The government is sounding more and more like Internet Explorer in those browser jokes.

manatee's have been around for a very long time. I fail to see how a statement by any organization, no matter how prestigious they are can change the evidence.

Evolution theory claims that land mammals were all marine mammals first, including humans. So, during the stage of amphibious humans, mermaids existed.

The aquatic ape hypothesis has zero bearing on reality, so no.

I'm not good with sarcasm, so I don't know, but I really hope that you're joking.

Evolution is a hypothesis, not a theory!

    Gah!

    It's not falsifiable...

There are underlying things which I agree are facts, but the actual "theory" part isn't a theory it's a hypothesis.

No, your wrong, the Theory of Evolution is a Theory composed of Facts. Not a "theory" with a few facts.

how did man get his subcantaneous fat layer? Why are his feet and legs structuraly built better for swimming than practically any ape species past or present? Why does he have 23 pairs of chromosomes while apes have 24 pairs? How can man hold his breath for a longer period of time underwater than any primate? Why are we practically hairless and sweat more than a pig? What ape can grow hair so long that it can stretch from the top of the head to the ground if it isnt cut? Why do humans have underarm hair when most animals have less to almost no hair in their leg and armpits? Why do humans have pubic hairs while apes and other mammals do not have that distinctive form of hair around their sexual organs?

Evolution has a lot of explaining to do. Which is another odd thing considering that in order to figure out life came about scientist have discussed reverse engineering life. REVERSE ENGINEERING!! Why does it seem that they cannot escape using abundant references pertaining to undirected events as if they are in fact directed?

    Perhaps because they are.
