Hi guys I am just wondering if it would be possible to deepen the importance of marraige, for an example I marry my faction heir to another factions princess then they "somehow" lose all there heirs and then there leader dies, this is the big part would it be possible to mod the game so that in a situation like this I could make a claim to that nations thrown ? anyway it is just a question I thank you guys so much for this mod it is probably the best mod for medieval 2

You can always make a claim to another nation's throne. How would that claim have been backed up historically? Through military might. Same as in this game.

I guess the main thing is that you should not get as much of a reputation drop for making war on a nation that you have a legitimate claim to. But if I remember correctly, there is no rep drop for making war on another faction to begin with, unless of course you were allied.

Yes I understand that I can always decrare war but I was wondering about perhaps actualy inveloping there kingdom into mine with a claim like this, because they would have no heir and there princess was in my faction.

Even if the royal line was gone, you would still have to deal with the other nobles, who probably wouldn't want another king just coming in and taking all of the land. The land wouldn't just magically pass over to you. You would have to take it.

Yes but it would be awesome to have something similar to a war of secsession, PS forgive my spelling. And thank you for your replies.

And what I was talking about making a claim is something similar to the system in crusader kings 2, if that help in clarifying.

Was just thinking of Crusader Kings series, their claim system is really good. Not sure if it's as possible in this game, but you can always just attack them anyway and convince yourself you have a pretext, it's not like the AI ever bothers with one...

EU3's system is maybe not as advanced as in CK2 but maybe easier to implement in SS? Maybe your reputation could represent the prestige somehow, lower reputation - lower chance of inheriting.

Do what I do, play collect a bloodline and marry princesses of every nation into your family, so you have (shaky) claims over the entire (christian) world!

Can you actually collect bloodlines, other than getting the "x relations" trait? It would be pretty cool if you could breed family members with über starting traits just due to their ancestors.

I'm not sure, but all those "of X Descent" traits that say they have some benefit, though its never specific as to what benefit it is.
