A little bit of info for what the hell I'm on about. I was a fan of the earlier Beyond Roman Glory mods, as you may remember, Rio, but eventually stopped playing them because they were too buggy on my poor old PC. In time I started playing the Mount and Blade games instead - for anyone that doesn't know, the M&B games are 3rd person strategy-RPG's that play similarly to the TW games, with a campaign map and a battle map, with roaming "stacks" of men walking on the campaign map. Really quite fun, and I recommend you get them!
Anyways, after a short while I looked into getting mods for the original M&B, since the game is set in a fictional world, and I'm not particularly interested in playing a campaign of a world I have no idea where anything is/who's who. One of these mods was called Barbarian Invasion, and though it was unfinished, it was pretty good. Unfortunately, the mod maker never got round to finishing the betas he made, both for the original M&B game and its sequel, Warband. As such, I've decided to try and take the challenge on of making a Rome mod myself.
The mod is planned to have 6 factions; both the Western and Eastern Empire, the Sassanids, the Picts, the Huns, and the German tribes. The original Warband only has 6 factions, and due to me being a total noob of a beginner and not knowing how to add factions in, my aim at the moment is to just release a game with these 6 in place of the original lot, meaning there's no Frank/Saxon/Goth/etc distinction, unfortunately.
Anyways, I was hoping you guys would be alright with me using your mod as a model for cities to include, as well as the more important thing I have in mind, that being models for the soldiers I intend to include, and the armour I need to design for them. I hope that you're alright with me doing that, with all involved being credited for them, of course, and if you're a Warband player, I hope you look into it!
Thanks!
