I'm really thankful for every comment from Jack Lusted - especially as he had to suffer from some unfriendly remarks...
but i would really like to see some comments about other units from faction as Rome, Carthage or of greek origin.

Especially for units from the factions that were badly treated in Rome I like the Germanics, the Gauls, Iberians, Dacians and the Britons.

I can understand that nobody from CA is willing to talk about the faction or game mechanics itself, but answers about units (this has nothing to do with a playable faction or not) are more than welcome.

Will the cavalry have reins modeled in? In previous games they didn't, the riders just had animations where their hands were holding invisible reins (i.e not modeled in).

Question: Is there any specific changes in the engine, that allow you to deal with infamous "cavalry exploit"?

Just want to let you guys know that I do not agree with Anibal at Portas's requested campaign map, it is just too narrow in scope and it would not offer enough diversity in my opinion.

Quite sure his map is too small and restricting, especially considering we know the RTWII map will be bigger than the RTW one.

They could just update the Empire map and connect Europe with India, but they'd have to include Arabia too.

Guys his map is just to illustrate that there shouldnt be regions extending into the Sahara desert. His opinions on Denmark, Scotland and Ireland are wrong as others have pointed out there were people there. I just hope Jack makes sure the campaign map doesnt resemble M2 with huge borders extending into the desert. But based off ETW I can only assume the designers will put the borders correctly.

The map Anibal at portas posted won't happen plus its just retarded. Abibal was pretty much lynched when he posted that map the first time in another thread.

Jack, I would very much like to know a bit more about the different unit formations available in the game (as shown in the Rome faction preview) and how they will work? Otherwise continue the awesome updates. One does not complain about treats

Cheers for that latest concept art and render post. Very interesting to see how armour details go from historical sources to concept art to game asset.

@Lusted Please pass on to your team of modellers and skinners that they are doing an awesome job! Beatiful armors and spears there and the horses looks perfect to my eyes.

Really looking forward to this game now

WAIT WHAT! PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY SUPPORTING THIS MAP????

I have officially lost faith in this community

Why would you have a map based on the very boundaries of Rome? What would you do if you were not playing as Rome? Imagine playing as Seleucids; you couldn't even go past your capitol. Or a Briton; couldn't even go into Scotland. Couldn't even go to Ireland, Scandinavia, North Germany, the Steppes, Parthia wouldn't even exist. It would be pointless to play as some factions.

I am confident to say that the above map is the worst idea I have seen in the past few years.

    Well said.

Thirdly, there are 7 playable factions other than Rome.

As for Roman soldiers in the midst of a desert, read this:

    Again, well said

Jack Lusted, please past a message onto your team that the above map is absolute nonsense, literally.

The map should not be focused only on the boundaries of Roman Empire, but all of the map as CA might have planned.

But the provinces should have resemblance to the Roman borders. For example:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

This province should be split by the red line. Owning a tip of Africa from Lepcis Magna should not mean that whole of wilderness down south comes into player's control. They should be two different provinces, so that a player who wants realistic Roman borders (like me) can remain at the tip while a player who wants to conquer everything can conquer the wilderness as a separate province, completely unattached from Lepcis Magna.

Same applies to Carthaginian territories, as shown in the mini map. They are far too large for historical Roman borders. And especially that province between Alexandria and Cyrene. Anatolia is fine, but can be better.

Europe has perfect Roman borders, though.

Agreed. I hated how you conquer one city on the edge and you got all the desert too. I always modded the campaign borders in Rome and M2. Empire though had realistic borders so I dont have too many doubts about Rome II.

Indeed. Out of all game's good points, this one is only that troubled me (and still does).

Yes, at least Empire had perfect borders for a 'Roman' empire, with the proper Tigris-Euphrates region.

Desert that spawned rebel stacks that attacked your flea-ridden settlement as soon as you sent your garrison out. Hopefully the post-empire economic and resource system will make them worthwhile defending.

I'd just like to tip my hat off to Jack Lusted & his little helpers for doing an awesome job with the recent Iberian and Celtic armor, weapon and unit concepts.

CA chose the right man and team for this job. The colours are not overly saturated, the textures are realistically plain, yet richly well defined.

    Horses look nice also!

Will Rome 2 be able to take advantage of quad core technology?
