Please make the campaign complex And enable hotseats as well! Will we have costume cities? Or do then all look the same in the end?

No. There were none back then, but if there were, nothing is known of them and they're irrelevant.

A question: will the provinces automatically change hands when the capital falls? That's just wrong.

Hey Jack, and thanks for taking time to answer our many, repeating and completely incomprehensive questions!

I'll shoot out a few of my own.

-What manner of "personality" will we see with generals/family members/etc.?
Will it be closer to the original Rome Total War & Medieval 2, or will it be more like later TW games?

    -Legions, how will they work?
Will they be coming as pre-packed unit composition, or will you be able to administer the ratio of different unittypes?
Furthermore, it was mentioned that they would have "achievements" tied to their history. Does that mean that a legion winning a lot of battles will have a bonus tied to that, like with experience?
Or is it more like a bonus vs. the type of enemy (faction) which they have successfully defeated a number of times? Or something completely different?

    -Region Management?
As has been mentioned, regions can be expanded/lessened to reduce the toll of micromanaging - My question is if it'll be a map template based on original Rome TW with no farms/mines/structures outside of the main-city, or will it be with structures of different use scattered throughout each region?

    - Timeframe and length of gameplay?
When starting a game, what year will it be? And when is the "deadline" for the campaign? Also, will there be more lengthy seasons to enhance overall campaign-map tactics? Or will the seasons change each time you End Turn?

    - Strife and conflict.
It's been said that the game will focus more on internal strife and powerpolicy than previous games, are there any more details as to what this includes? Nobility uprising if you do X thing that displeases you?

    - Size and Numbers?
Each total war game has pushed the numbers potentially participating in a battle up and up, will Rome2 do the same again? If yes, then by how many?

    - Fleets and Armies
Huzzah! Now we can land troops on the beach! Will these battles be an actual seperate battle in themselves, or can they be an actual part of taking a city? The battle shown to the journalists apparently held a beachlanding, followed by the actual assult on the city and at the same time, a fleet infiltrating the harbor, was all 3 parts in the same battle?

I hope you can answer some of these! If not, ah well, I'll simply have to wait and see.

I was wondering if the Greek city states would be represented as one or two factions like in the first Rome total war or if you will make some of them individual factions (Athens, Sparta, Syracuse etc etc)

one question, how different will the campaign map management (you know managing your cities/regions) compared to say empire or shogun? The guy that got interviewed said that the regions will be reduced to provinces and there will be mini regions in each one.
yes this is cool information and all but I must know how will this play out when you compare it to other Total War titles? how much can you actually manage in a province? is it optional to have more responsibility or less? how will the conquests play out? is the game over after i capture a dozen provinces? can I still have siege battles while attacking these small "regions" in the province or is that solely for Province capitals?

if you cant give me an answer thats fine I just want to know how different will this new system that the man in the interview was so keen in stressing over and over...it kind of scared me...

And one thing that i can say with certainty is that historical accuracy sells, because in my humble opinion the core funs judging by me, came to total war series because of their passion with history.
Even the tiniest historical detail in the equipment of a roman soldier according to the period, will elevate the quality of the whole game according to my tastes for eg.
So ca please go for historical accuracy.
I WANT TO SEE THE PRE MARIAN COHORTS AS ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE!
Basicly CA can just take advantage of the historical research many mod teams had made , like Roma surrectum 2 for eg

Hey Jack, I was wondering if you can ask the tech guys of an estimate about the minimum specs required to play the game. I know this seem to not have a connection to the thread, but I think it should be revealed so that we know to save money from now if we can't match the requirements. And please don't tell me that you are going to make it feasible for all specs, just give an estimate of how much ram, processor frequency and video card ram should one have. I don't care if you don't know the actual data, just give us your opinion on what you think we need. This is the only thing I am curious about.
I hope you'll answer it. Thanks!

Hopefully the number of turns is not restricted to 1 or 2 for each year.
With the comments about historical persons and more "Rpg" it would be a shame, if you can only play with your "beloved" Julius Caesar for a few turns, before he becomes too old.

Additionally marching from the forests of Germania to the greek islands should not take years (turns) for an army...

Hey Jack, firstly, thanks for this thread and all the CA participation here at TWC, it's much appreciated..

I know you've said their will be a grand campaign, but are there any plans for provincial campaigns..'Caesar in Gaul,' 'Spartacus.' Maybe a year jump/time period option.. ?

Caesar in Gaul is one thing. As for Spartacus - that's why they need to make the game modding friendly. They can't just make every little conflict that happened during the period since it wouldn't pay off for them but on the other hand, it might be a loss for the community since they'd want to play something like that.

Does Warscape = more 1v1 battles regardless of numbers?

    1. Army Movement - will a supply line be implemented???

    2. Unit Customized - will we be able, in some way, customize our vet Units in SP? Maybe not by making them pink... but maybe like agents (adding traits) and maybe some small visual differences???

Hell no!!! Most of the community wants realism and historicity in the upcoming game and you want to be able to customize it and dress them as you like??? What's wrong with you?? I for one don't want that kind of mambo-jambo features in the game. Give me units with historical accurate equipment and that's it!

If you can customize them yourself, you still can have accurate units...who the hell cares what others are playing with?

Most of the people buying this wont even care about realism and historicity, they just want their "SPQR" and red legions and thats all.

    not sure about your statement...

many people wanted more customization in single player for SH2. customization does not equal nonrealistic! it just means choice... in fact most hard-core realism ppl, like yourself, are never satisfied with CA's attempt anyways... therefore having some customization will help you reach historical accuracy.

I one didn't liked that battles in S2 multiplayer became like a mass clown street fight instead of a proper samurai battle. I don't want to see that kind of stuff when people will start making AARs and post screenshots of their best battles after R2 is released. But true enough, it is a matter of choice.

That's just prejudice. You don't know what type of fan I am. I actually loved the vanilla Rome's feel and I like the units, even though they were far from historical accuracy. I enjoy it even today, in spite of all the cool mods out there. But I think that if customization will be made available, it should be made in the form of modding tools and that people that know what they want to use them to make standalone modifications for the game that people can choose to download and play or not.
