Feel free to post questions you have about things in this thread, though some will probably not be answered for a while as there is still over a year to release. The other thread is closed so it can be kept to dev updates so people can easily find info.

There's no need to post 'questions'; it's already obvious what you're going to do with your 'exclusive content'. You're going to run the same model you did with Shogun 2, only worse. You're going to make a killing on selling Rome 2 piecemeal. Eventually, as with Shogun 2, a game that was 60 dollars will end up being nearly a hundred dollars with all the withheld content, exclusives and shoddy, hastilly released 'expandalones' that wreck the vanilla experience.
There'll probably be a lot of false advertising, as what happpened with S2.
BTW, S2's Blood Pack still isn't working properly, and the wonky graphics doesn't reflect the screenshots that are up everywhere for it.
Oh, come on! Why you announced such an anticipated game then more than a year before release?I'm counting the days already, that was a serious blow to my morale. I was hoping for March 2013 or at most May 2013 although I would consider that long cruel.
Anyway, would the "theatres" from ETW return in a way at least in the form of regions/large groups of provinces/settlements etc?
Will the towns return? Or we will have the resource/harbor/special towns only? Will they be occupiable?
How many cities you would want in the map? In the previews it was said it will be bigger than RTW, but bigger map doesn't necessarily mean more provinces.

alhoon is not a member of the infamous Hoons: a (fictional) nazi-sympathizer KKK clan. Of course, no Hoon would openly admit affiliation to the uninitiated.
"Angry Uncle Gordon" describes me well.

CA should take the time they need to make the best game they possibly can rather than have a buggy game like empire or a game without diversity like shogun II.
I waited 8 years already, i can wait two years more if thats what it takes to get the best game possible.
Reducing micro-management, in any way, is foolish!Q. What is all this talk about reducing micro-management in the campaign, and you dumbing it down?
We are not dumbing it down. The campaign in Rome II will have more depth than ever before. We are also aiming to reduce late game micro-management so players can focus on the game and the new mechanics we are introducing to the campaign game.

We played strategy games just by micro-management... disappointing...

I think one big concern of the community is modability (how it will be in comparison to Rome: Total War). Does the new engine make that possible again?
Also a tricky topic would be multi-core support. This has been a weakness of all Total War games to date. They make only use of one or two threads, not more. It would be really appreciated if 4-8 cores could be utilized to improve performance in terms of fps and reduce waiting times between turns and loading times in general.

Indeed, CA please do not meddle with the factions already included, let people have the full factions they bought with the game and not having to buy DLC's to get the whole roster.
DLC unit should only be added as part of extra factions you can buy. However please include the core factions (Rome, Carthage, Diadochi states, Gaul, Germania, Dacia, Greeks and Parthians) from start with full rosters. Then DLC factiosn could be smaller factions like Syracuse, Bosphoran Kingdom, Bactria etc...
Are you folks at CA still pro at Rome TW after all these other games.

Is that DLCs or something else?
Any chance of different starting scenario's or will that be strictly kept to expansions? And I don't mean drastically different scenario's just little things like end of the republic, conquest of britain, third century crisis etc.
And how varied will the settlements be?
