    Default Bonus XP not working

You know the bonus XP you get from Guilds, like "+2 xp for cavalry trained here"? Yah, not working for me.

Better saying... not ALWAYS working. Sometimes I train an unit and I get the bonus, but most of the time dont. I can also retrain the unit, to get the bonus I supose, I paid, retrain and nothing happens.

Can I fix that? Any help?

That happens to me as well and I'm not really sure what causes it to break.

one way to get around the annoyance of always seeing the units in the retrain queue is to just take the noob troops out to fight. They will either get a chevron or two.. or lose part of the unit and need retraining.

Then combine the non chevroned unit with a unit that has a high chevron count.. ideally leaving a few of the higher chevroned unit intact. I usually leave a gold chevron of each unit type I use in a place that I do retraining.. after the combining of part of the high chevron unit and the no chevron unit.. you end up with a unit that has one or more chevrons depending on the experience of the unit you are using and gets you past that annoying retrain glitch. Then just retrain the unit you used for this.. usually a gold chevroned unit.

It's how I stay on top of it anyways. not ideal but its been broken like that for me since I played on vanilla and its the same here.

I think it might have something to do with local guilds that provide exp bonuses and master guilds or guild headquarters that provide global bonuses that end up in conflict. or multiple global exp bonuses conflicting. at least thats my suspicion.

because you need to retrain the unit after you train it in order to get the bonus (I also created a thread a few weeks ago on this topic)
NOTE! Don't save the game after you've put the unit in the retraining queue and then end the turn because the bonus will not be applied; I always make sure that this is the last thing I do before ending my turn
so, do all the things you want to do in that turn (fight some battles, build things, move the agents etc.) and if you want to save before ending the turn do it now; after saving, put the units you want to retrain in the queue and end your turn, it should work 100% (at least for me )

It's not that I saved a game then reloaded it and the retraining no longer worked.

I've recruited fresh troops in a city before with buildings that provide exp bonuses and received no bonus.

I've also retrained units.. multiple times to no effect and just given up on it.

only way I've found to deal with the annoyance is to use my least experienced troops until all my units have a measure of experience.

I don't believe this issue is stainless steel specific.. I think its medieval total war 2 in general as I've seen it happen in vanilla and not disappear either. once it starts it doesn't stop.

just try my method and you will see it works, it's a very strange and complex method you are using

tudor's method works - I had the same problem and now it works. Just do everything you want to do in the turn and then the re-training just before hitting end turn ...

I don't even have to retrain them. I just redo the training queue before hitting end turn, and get the bonus XP when they appear next turn.
Just like k/t's link says. Note: Some people are not as click happy as I am, k/t. Better to quote AND link.

    Wow... whata tricky!
But I'm happy to know how it works now. Huge thanks, Tudor!

And, Jado, thanks for the reply, but I'm already use the "veteran-to-noob-unit-transfer". The problem is when I'm recruiting a new type of unit, and I want that two chevrons!

Why should I do their work for them? They asked a question, not me. They're the ones who need something, not me. If such people can't click a link, they don't deserve an answer to their question. If a homeless man said he was hungry and you bought him a sandwich but then he asked you to pre-chew it for him because he's not chew-happy, what would you say?

Both ways will help, I think. And I thanks both of then.

But about the "link and quote" thing. I dont think it's like you are chewing for someone if you quote. It's more like you are, well, being nice, polite.

K/t, when you look for an answer in a thread, you expect it in the thread. You shouldn't expect people to do the local variation of wiki walk.

Of course when it's a treatise on infantry tactics or another long answer, you will link to it and say where the link leads.
But one line can be quoted easily and, for those who want the thread it came from, you link there.

But let's not turn this thread into a morality and good practice discussion further. It was just a side note anyway.
