Latin Knight, it has been too long.

But I come to you in my hour of need - I need you to enter the MAARC. You have an amazing AAR and I'd put money on it doing even more amazing in the MAARC.

Indeed, i was the first to enter the August MAARC, but i understood it would be extended to this month of September if there were less than five candidates.

Now it seems i have a lot of competition, let's see how it fares

Good writing. Interesting new angles, e.g. the religion map. Overall, I like the ethnic names and congratulations for your efforts in that direction. I am interested to see how will you marry Stainless Steel with this mod - which I have understood to be your intention. Custom battles?

One thing that is difficult with ethnic names and is obvious in some of the mods is that one cannot be an expert in all Medieval European languages. Even if one were, there would be problems in transferring terms, as some languages are more inflected than others.

For example, I have yet to find the term Basileia ton Romaion as used in some mods in an actual medieval text. It is probably not strictly correct, at least not for that period. The word basileia (empire or imperial reign) itself is common but there seemed to be no standard form of the name of the empire. Anna Comnena, in her introduction, uses the expression "Basileia Romaion", the closest I ever found to "Basileia ton Romaion". "Byzantine Basileia" is actually the nominative of one expression found in original text, more correctly "en toi Byzantioi Basileia" in the dative. So the term Byzantine Empire is not as far off as some think it to be.

I hope you do not come close to the Lithuanians, because of their grammar. Stay around the French and the Germans. Well done so far, it is a good read.

Damn, there has been almost a month since i last posted in this thread. RL is demanding me all time in the world...

I must apologize to all my dear readers, i'm really enjoying this story as much as you all are, but, as of now, i must put this on hiatus. Fortunately, i got to stop with at least a story-relevant conclusion, without despicable cliffhangers, as in my previous AAR.

Now, you must be thinking "damn, not another good AAR that dies", but i honestly can tell you it's truly possible to retake it in some near future. My previous (medieval 2) AAR truly died, but there is a significant difference - the previous one i was writing while playing the campaign, this Britannia campaign i already finished, as stated in the OP, and have stored hundreds of screenshots recording the campaign to its very end in 1452 A.D., as well as all the savegames for each in-game year. Now, the thing is all about writing the narrative, because the data is preserved. I trust someday i might restart this, probably in my vacations in the end of the year.

Well, Steam has a Mac version available, if you use this plataform. I wholeheartedly recommend this game, is now the one i have most hours clocked in Steam, surpassing even RTW and M2TW (which were my top 2).

Thanks for the compliments, friend. I put a lot of effort in even an apparent authencity, specially regarding naming conventions. I do realize that many times this becomes inconsistent (for the Muslim rulers, for example, i can't come to terms with using the fairly unrecognizable Arabic names, and resort to the Greek/Latin naming, as the Christian chroniclers would call them).

I must say I understood your point. For the Byzantines, for example, I prefer the more unconventional "Rhomanía" to connect them with the Ancient Roman heritage, and for Germany refering to them as Romisches-Reich, and the archaic "Deutschland" (which would mean "Land of the Teutons" - which makes sense for me, considering in Latin they called the German King "Rex Teutonicorum") are just personal preferences. There won't be Lithuanians in the story, don't worry , the most outlandish names for me were Croatia and Armenia, which don't even phonetically come close in the native language to the Latinized version (as far as i can tell).
