I have to go yes, from recent total war games this has what i have come to expect. *cough cough fots pre order factions for $5 each cough cough*
Yes, that is what CA has come to be expected of
No, CA would not do that to its bread and butter game and the most die hard fans

Be grateful they are making games. They have made the best games that has ever been made in gaming history. Expansions might be released, but I want that and I am sure other people will as well. Rome II will be the most epic game and you will remember it forever.![]()
Oh please they have far from made the best games that have ever been made in gaming history. They have a niche in they`re particular style which makes them important, but not the best of games in gaming history, far from it.
And I followed TW from STW original was released. You must have a limited history with gaming.
You probably spent most of the time since STW complaining about every minor detail or business practice...
On topic: Ofcourse, we will get a lot of DLC. It is not just CA's policy these days, but the general policy of the mainstream gaming industry in the attempt to squeeze as much money out of the consumers as possible.

Expansions are completely exceptable, i mean don't get me wrong, i like using catholic priests to fight hordes of barbarians just like the next guy, but im worried about like if you preorder on steam you get the carthaginians, on disk you get the gauls, exc. It would be absolute garbage if you had to pay extra for them as well.
Thats all opinion boss, they might not be the best games for you, but total war is by far the best series ive played, despite the few flaws. Begone troll!

LOL. The die-hards who dare not hear anything other than glorious praise for all things CA are out in force today! Makes me laugh!
Truth is I`m probably one of the few truly honest supporters of TW games around.
Difference is I actually have an independent and critical thinking mind.![]()
It's pretty naive to blame it all on CA.
Maybe SEGA has most of the say about this?
They are getting our money in return for that man. Just because they are making games that doesn't give them the right to extortionate (it seems a strong word, but still) their fans with 5$ a faction. That is just wrong. People like you that are complacent that they get something make them continue this kind of marketing.![]()
RTWRM - back to basics
Rome 2 will be The Mother of preorder/exclusive/piddly faction/unit dlc nonsense. You have been warned.

Dont exaggerate. The games are good but far from additive. They are good games for casual players. Their target. Im much more anxious to get company of heroes 2 than Rome2 no matter my love for Roman empire. Is that,i found the last game so boring that im afraid of a reduced version of rome be bored to. I simple dont by dlcs and for the news we will need it to play the full game.

Yes but claiming that "they have made the best games ever made in gaming history" is a MASSIVE exaggeration and set the tone for the rest of his post. Also, where does it say the average playtime of a game? (Just curious)
I wouldn't put CA far off EA, CA just get less press for it. Most of EA's criticism is based off majority opinion and what people hear. Almost every gamer on the internet will say "EA are" but most don't even know why. CA are almost or just as bad as EA, they just make less games so they don't do it as often and have less people complaining about them.
Compared to companies like Paradox Interactive or Sports Interactive, CA are very much bad guys
