I like that the difference in colours is visible but not super contrasted like in Rome I.
Also the Hastati wearing those sort of breast plate things at the bottom of the pic looks very cool.
Combined battles, awesome, I just read A Clash of Kings and have been wanting to recreate the blackwater in some kind of game but none allow it well.
Could be a loadingscreen picture. Done from Rado Javor, who have worked also for previous TW games.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Those pictures from the magazines look epic, but do they look like art? Are these actual screenshots? Can someone confirm this?

Jack said the original images are actual screenshots from the Carthage battle and when you look at the new ones in the magazine itself as opposed to the scans that people are uploading they look to be in the same style and are clearly from the same battle so I can only assume they are also real screenshots as well.
not really new anymore, have been posted allready in the preview sections
'I'll be damned ' Marcellus Wallis
dam you really had me there for a second
Don't really like the fact that they are a bit too photoshopped by the magazine, but thx anyway, second pic looks promising, notice how the soldiers actually closed in for combat animations one on one, no more fighting air like in earlier games.
p.s what kind of a moron writes that sort of a comment dedicated to the CA about naval combat, did they play Napoleon and Empire ?!?, hell CA made better naval combat in their strategy games then some naval sims did...
I samo dotle, do tog kamena,do tog bedema,
Nogom ces stupit, mozda poganom, drznes li dalje?...Cuces gromove
Kako tisinu zemlje slobodne...Sa grmljavinom strasnom kidaju;
Razumeces ih srcem strasljivim...Sta ti sa smelim glasom govore,
Pa ces o stenja tvrdom kamenu
Brijane glave teme celavo
U zanosnome strahu lupati...
Al' jedan izraz, jednu misao,
Čućeš u borbe strašnoj lomljavi:
"Otadžbina je ovo Srbina!..."
Are you talking about about the entire group having the charge animation even though theyre miles at teh back of teh group?
I don't doubt that these screens were made inside the engine, but they are quite a bit more photo-shopped than they should be, CA, show us some more real footage, like what the average person would see while playing, you had them for S2, give us some for R2 instead of edited ones
Merged with picture thread.
I am definitely buying PCgamer for that article!
I don't understand why people are failing to grasp the fact that the screenshots look odd because it's scanned from a magazine? Lawd...

Hey... did i just see carthaginian ARCHERS? :p
So far so good, I hope the game will not require super computer, although I am a bit sceptical about some changes in the game especially about tech tree, anyways looking forward, and hope they will leave some manouverable space for any modders to modify and lacks![]()
tech tree over changes set to turn-number, always loathed those.
