I think the general collective hope is that there is some sort of multiplayer campaign feature. It would be the best game ever if it had that, the more comprehensive the better.
classical mode PvP Team vs Team, Free for all (Rome 1 like), perhaps with less or no unit skilling and retainers
Avatar mode as known, matchmade battles
something new (evolved)
a working bug free MP campaign for 2 players
a working bug free MP campaign for 4 players

So I was looking over the official site to get a run down on mp features and it appears nothing is there other than Rome2 intro and Shogun Battles? they don't even have the old games on the site anymore, which I can semi understand considering those were under Activision, but should they at least provide a history page or something? I don't want to spend time searching the forums.
can you play modded campaign mutiplayer games? if the other player has same mod?.
You certainly could in Medieval II, and if you haven't checked there's several subforums dedicated to what is called "hotseat" campaigns for many of the mods hosted on TWC.
As we brought up when ETW was coming out, if someone drops assign their army to the nearest allied player or perhaps the ally with less units.
I witnessed this feature playing BFME, probably the expansion in 2005?
Much better than an uneven game or headless army that just stands there waiting to be killed.
I remember the multi-team battles you could have in RTW and CA havnt brought the ability to do them again back in any title on the WarScape engine. Things like 2v2v2v2 or 1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1 (FFA) or 3v3v2 and stuff, just give us a mix of options and let us find what we like to play.
Yes that was a pretty cool feature. The maps really need to be bigger for multi-team games though.
I for one just want more Players in the MP Campaign all I care for at this point!
Total War is the only massive war game that has yet to be Surpassed keep up the good work CA don't let us down!!!!
Guess nothing new will announced till GamesCom. I hope, since Rome II will release late 2013, that it will be playable on the GamesCom next year. Would be quite amazing
Would definitely like to see allied AI generals return if for nothing else than multiplayer, but make them more intelligent this time around.
(grouping and assigning the group AI control)
Current MPC is only for 2 players .
Again , MPC for 3 or 4 players would be nice to see.
That's just terrible considering we've been playing 21 player hotseats via the Internet!
True. If its possible in EU III, CIV-series then why not in the Total War Series....

I really liked the multiplayer battles. Tough, it was harsh i could not do an Avatar Campaign with more then 1 friend. First, at Empire and Napoleon I did not really enjoy multiplayer. Then, with Shogun I almost played it more as the singleplayer. Shogun 2 had a brilliant battle system and expecially with FOTS it became epic.
and this ofc.Beeing able to complete an achievement and a game even if someone quite

What I'm referring to is not true "hotseat" as the developers intended, but online campaigns via the hotseat feature passing the campaign save via the forums.
