Default Firearms- Activating Fire at Will mode

For what fire at will means, I don't mean the fire at will command in the game already in which the entire unit fires at once once everyone is loaded. By that phrase I mean the firing mode that pistoliers, elders, artillery, and witch hunters have where each individual in the unit fires off their shots as soon as they have reloaded- the real life meaning fire at will.

I've looked at the EDU, descr_projectiles, and area_effects, but have found nothing that indicates how to switch this on for units, or indeed, if it's possible to link it to a special ammunition where switching to it acts like switching to a different firing mode for gunpowder units.

If anybody knows how to do this, I would very much appreciate you chiming in.

So basically you want them to fire like handgunners rather than musketeers? It's in the EDU afaik, i'll have a look.
Were there but a tree in this godforsaken place i would have hanged myself.

That is correct. There's three types of projectile sets used: Musket, pistol, and sniper. Switching the unit to pistol makes no difference as they will still volley fire instead of firing when ready. It might have something to do with descr_skeletons, I think it might have something to do with the hold animation. I once found a gun animation where the hold animation wasn't in place.

The reason I want to switch to this type of firing mode for certain units is because after a certain point giving units accuracy when they can only kill the front rank of the formation isn't going to garner more kills. The bodies that die in the front become bullet shields for the ones behind them, and when the bullets come in volleys many of the projectiles become lodged in the already dying. Far better that the firearms shoots at a staggered rate to avoid this as much as possible.
