Default PC dying problem could use some help

I have a problem with my computer, and since many of you on here are quite knowledgeable on the subject of computers I thought maybe someone could diagnose my problem for me. Anyway I was playing a game when my computer suddenly shut off. I tried to reboot, and the computer started up like normal only there was one problem. My computer now won't display anything on my monitor. At first I thought it was my monitor cable since one of the little things inside it broke off. So I went and got my tv computer hd plug in and tried it on there, still no display. Then I went and used a different monitor cable that worked and it still wouldn't show anything on the monitor. Now the monitor works fine, I tested it out on my brothers computer. So my question to you all is, what in the hell is wrong with my computer lol. I appreciate any responses or advice you all could give me. Thanks a ton.

I would look at the graphics card.

    Is it covered in dirt?

Does its fan spin when you turn the computer on?

The fastest ways I know to eliminate it as the problem.

Last month, I had to pull my card out and blow out a big dustbunny caught in its exhaust port.

No dirt, fan spins, however it was pretty dusty so I took an airduster and got all the dust out. But when I put it back in same problem. Any other ideas?

Can you try it in your brother's computer? If you have the same results there, you need a new card would be my guess.

Check the psu to be sure the 12v rails did not tank?

Very bad. You may have broken off a pin from your cable into your graphics card. Unfortunately what you've done since may have made it worse....

From here it sounds like you've gotten a pin broken off in your GPU port. By trying to use other cables you may have pushed it deeper into the socket making it very difficult to remove.

Take a good hard look at the port on your GPU and look for anything brass poking out. Hopefully if the pin is still visible then you may be able to pull it out with needle-nosed pliers.

Now this doesn't explain the sudden shutdown completely but it very well could explain why the monitor works on other systems but not the affected one. Good luck!

Chances are it's time to look at computer catalogues to find a new discrete graphic card.

    And probably a new cable.
