    Default Freezing on Campaign Map

So, my game freezes nearly every time I attack something on the campaign map - i don't even get to the battle screen, the army just walks over and then just before i get the option to autoresolve or fight the battle on the battlemap the game freezes. I'm running it on high settings and getting a decent frame rate. The one battle I've managed to get into ran fine too. I don't get any sort of error message, and it doesn't CTD, just freezes with the map still up. I have a Nvidia 9800GT card and an Intel Quad core processor. Is this a known problem? Any advice for getting around it?

I'm not sure, I'll try that next. I've tried Dx10 and Dx9 and it crashes on both. The issue also seems to be wider than I first thought. The game has now crashed before a battle, during a battle, just when I'm ending the turn. All with the same result being that the game simply freezes. No CTD, no error report, it just freezes and I can't do anything, apart from going to the task manager and force quitting it. I did have a couple of mods, but they are relatively minor (Extended Campaign Victory Conditions and Realm Divide Mod v2.0) and I don't think they are what's causing the problem. I took them out of the data folder and tried again, but the game still froze the next time I tried it. It always seems to happen around the same amount of time in, maybe around 20-30 minutes.

EDIT: I've tried it on Medium and its the same story... The game's currently unplayable, and on the day I bought it, so I would be very grateful for any advice!

If it makes any difference, the game doesn't seem to be saving any of my preferences in terms of graphics/game settings. I have to reset them every time I restart the game. Not sure if that might be an indicator of a particular issue?

    Tried this?
    Treid Game Booster?
Have you run Microsoft Update Manually and installed all software options?

That link's not working for me. What's Game Booster? I've updated my gfx card drivers. I don't really know what you mean by running "Microsoft Update Manually".

    Appreciate the help btw.

Ok turns out I'm fully updated in terms of software. I've just made the change to virtual address memory as per that thread and that seems (fingers crossed) to have done the job. Now playing on high, and I havent had a crash for the longest sustained period of time since buying the game. I'll report back if the issue reoccurs and then potentially have a look at that Game Booster thing. Thanks for your help!
