    I think you should have done is for you ally to move around the flank and you have put your defensive positon. Which the problem is that you could plan your attack better? Of course, bring artillery will help you to win the fight. I bring all infantry (or so you say is gunpower) army with 4 Yari cavalry with artillery. If the plan fails, you lost the battle. There's no point to continue the fight if the outcome is so obvious. Sun Tzu have said to use combination of indirect and direct to win the battle. Also he mentioned that rushing your army will earn your victory. I know the Art of War.

    Clearly, I do come up with a battle plan and work others to win the battle. Sun tzu had said to know yourself and your enemy that in 100 battles, you will never be at peril. Unlike most humans don't like failure, I use failure to exploit my victory.
