The Vandals !!!

Ok guys , i've been playing as the vandals , and have sacked many settlements from Constantinople to Rome .
And have now settled in a French City of Sambarigova ( or sumthing like that ! )
The Huns have settled down too ... just a province below my own , And we are at war .
So should i build a fleet and form a horde again and move 2 britain and confront the Huns !!! I am quite a nuebie ... and m scared of the reputation of the Scourge of Europe !!!
Please suggest whether i go 2 war or migrate ?

its not neccassarily the number of men but the quality of the men if their one province as it seems you are then gain a few big armies and stomp em and take the title as scourge of "Sambarigova" then expand around the provinces around you before taking Braitain

Its rather difficult to take Britain if you leave the Celts to their own devices for long enough. The combo of Gallowlasses and Culan Hounds are probably enough to destroy a large army of your average vandals.

The combo of vandal horse archers and heavy cavalry (preferably a few generals) beat the Celt combo easily, I am sure. What good are hounds of culan and gallowlasses if they can't catch up? Also the amount of cavalry fielded by AI usualy isn't enough to worry about. Don't bother with vandal infantry, they tend to rout at the sight of decent infantry. Leave them at home, maybe use them for sieges. Wait out sieges if you have to.

I can realte to that. Vandals are a problem. Have you thought about applying for an ASBO to keep them away from your cities?

No, he's playing as the Vandals. The goths are the problem - dressing all in black and generally being depressing...

Just attack them. Migrating to Britain wont solve anything...

Whoops

But yeah it won't do any good to go to Britian, the county courts will just slap an ASBO on you. If your lucky you might get away with a tagging device but either way courts take a dim view of Vandals.

i've been playing as the alemanni (medium/medium) for the past week or so and i've faced the franks, burgundii, goths, sarmatians (though they've been mauled pretty badly) as hordes. basically, i've been able to be drastically outnumbered by them (usually two to one) and still win. my tactics usually are to hold my line with regular infantry (in my case, spear warbands) while sending my cav way out on one of their flanks. at that point i run them into the back of the line. usually the poor fools will run before i even have to engage them with the cav. basically, as long as you have a decent general and some cavalry, you should be fine

Hey Guys ,

i finally decided 2 face the huns , and after 3 Huge battles i finally clinched a decisive victory and now they are again a horde rampaging southern france and moving towards spain .

You know what to do now?

Kick them while they're down!

Take as many men as possible and chase after their horde! Hire mercinaries if you have the money. Finish them off!

Finish their fam. members, not the horde armies, they are just a waste of precious troops.

The best way I've found to deal with horse archer armies, like the huns, is with foot archers of your own. It's especially helpful if you have archers with the "Long Range Missles" trait, which I think the Vandal Steppe Archers have. Protect them with infantry, and you should be able to perform pretty well against horse archer armies. Without solid archers of your own, they're a huge pain to defeat.
