    Default movement

For those of you who have played MTW and STW when you made a move you had the option to change the move, say you decided to attack a province later on with stronger forces, either way you could amend the move, snice MTW2 is using an upgraded rome engine in which once you moved an army you could not take the move back. I think it would be better if there was an area of movement that a unit can move with in that turn that once the unit is moved it is not made permanent until you end the turn. What do you think

Personally, I think that once an army even partially moves its max distance, it should not be able to be altered. If nothing else, you have uncovered an area where no hidden enemies are.
Perhaps being able to recall a move IN YOUR PROVINCES would be fair, since it would be unlikely for an enemy to hide unseen in territory where your civilians would be alerting you. In enemy territory though, any movement at all gives you knowledge.

That's what save game is for.

Well i guess that before u make a move ur meant to play it as a game of chess so ur meant to think of all options before u move. just like chess, when u let ur hand of the peice u cant undo

True but you don't get an option to keep your hand on the piece.

Just can not be done with the fog of war in place or you'd effetively be able to scout for free.

I've moved units by mistake before, but if anything it adds to the game.

the enermys ambushes would be useless then, i wouldnt want to plan an ambush just for the enermy to be able to avoid it.

On the contray, I would prefer if we would not be able to 'take back' any moves, and in addition, have movements executed simultaneously across the board, like in STW/MTW. So you'd tell your army where to go (with a green arrow like that in the current RTW), but they'd not move until you have ended your turn, and then they would move with everyone else.

This would eliminate the odd twisting of time that happens in RTW currently, whereby the player whoose turn is after yours would be able to perceive your move and then react accordingly, whereas in real life, he would have no such prior knowledge.

Of course, this would require some real intelligence on the part of the stack AI, which would ideally react to nearby threats based on prior instructions. Provided this AI doth not screw up, I believe it'll make for a much more exciting and realistic (oooh! realism can be exciting?!) game. Where you'd be placed closer to the role of a real general at that time. Savvy?

Excellent idea, though the AI used to cheat in MTW and STW (it would change its moves depending on what you did)
