I just had a 22000 man battle in my Gallaeci campaign against Carthage. They had 4 stacks idling on the Belaeric Island after I took it so I sent my own armies to fight them. It was 13682 fine Gallaecians against 8132 Carthagians. Even when I turned the settings to lowest my computer still lagged

Well... I one time had a single legion at Tingi comprised of about 3200 men I believe, and I fought 5 full stack Gallaeci armies there. They had about 12000 men in all, and somehow I managed to win.

Those are the moments that make an RS addict out of you...

In RS 1.6 I believe, I had an AI turn where my favorite Legio Germanica was first simultaneously assaulted by half a dozen Gallic stacks somewhere across the Alps, an attack which they could fend of with heavy losses, and then attacked again by at least three full stacks that killed the legion to a man (though not without heavy losses of their own).
It did not end the stack spam inherent in 1.6 by any means, but the Legio Germanica practically conquered Gaul posthumously that day.
Those where several hours of my life that I'll never forget.

Yeah big only in numbers. When will people learn that it isn't that impressive to defeat 3 stacks of rebels?

Due to my slight alteration of the games .exe my battles can go up to 30,000 without lag. But my biggest battle has to be around 15,000 men total......It was against the greek city states invading Athens

I'm actually getting notable lag once it crosses the 10k soldiers marker, but would love to be able to remove the limited number of armies participating at once in a battle.

He's not allowed to tell you how to modify the .exe, but all he did was change the number of men per unit.
