    Default Insert original Kingdoms disc?

    Hello all,

    Ok, so here's the situation:

I went out and bought the original MIITW some years ago, and installed it. Later, I borrowed my brother's copy of Kingdoms, installed it, and played it for a while before returning it back to him.

Recently, however, I tried to launch the game from my original MIITW disc. I received an error message saying insert original kingdoms CD, plus a link to SecuROM for further information. I'm guessing since I have Kingdoms installed, it's not recognizing the old MIITW disc as authentic.

Ordinarily, I would just reinstall MIITW and delete Kingdoms- however, I seem to recall the second installation disc for MIITW got corrupted or scratched, and doesn't work that well anymore (though it has been a while, and I may be misremembering), and so I've been hesitant to go that route just yet.

Is there anyway to get around this?

    Thanks!

Let me guess - it's the White Label version of Kingdoms, yes? I had the same problem. The solution is to make sure you've downloaded the correct v1.5 patch, because there's more than one.

I don't have a link, but for what it's worth, the one I downloaded that worked is called:

Total_War_Kingdoms_EnFrItGeSp - and since Kingdoms will already update MTW2 to v1.3, you'll need to find the v1.5 patch. Hope that helps.

Edit: Sorry, read your post again. I don't think there is a way round it without getting a copy of Kingdoms. If you only want to play MTW2, you should try reinstalling it again - you might get lucky with the 2nd disc.

Uninstall the Kingdoms campaigns should take care of it. If not, there is more.
