If annoying bugs come up like this you can use the cheat console (opened by using the ` key) and then typing <move_character "Romeo of_Venice" 123,456> where 123 and 456 are latitudinal and longitudinal co-ordinates respectively. Oh and it's not the Venetians' fault

If I remember correctly, there's a bug that happens if you try to use the move character cheat on someone who is garrisoned. I think they become invisible. Don't remember exactly.

That happened to me on RTW, probably is also there for Medieval

Always send a ship to pick up your new generals, you'll avoid pissing off all factions you go across on your way home; and this issue.

Or just lay siege to Venice!!!! and Venice's neighbors and all their friends and family

That should get the messege across not to steal your women

I like Venice.. with my Norman campaign I had 5 of their princesses married into my faction.. and 2 of mine in theirs!

I still think everyone can guess why does this bug exist, though. Creative Assembly does not fix it because CHEATS ARE EVIL. That's why they put them in the games.
