What do you think is the best duet or colaboration not counting people like Simon and Garfunkel or the Everly brothers. Ones that got together for only one song?

    Mine are

1 Leather and Lace Don Henly and Stevie Nix

Two incredible voices and a great song to boot

2 All My Life - Ronstadt, Linda & Aaron Neville

3 One Sweet Day Mariah Carey and Boys II Men

The most successful single of alltime

4 Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough - Don Henly & Patti Smyth

5 Stop Draggin' My Heart Around Stevie Nix and Tom Petty

Face it Henly and Nix have two of the best and most unique voices around thats why I give leather and lace the number one spot

6 Whenever You Call Mariah Carey and Brian Mc Knight

    Mariah can sing with anyone.

7 If You Say My Eyes Are Beautiful Whitny Huston & Germain Jackson

    That's Progress - D.O.A. and Jello Biafra
Jesus Was A Terrorist - NOMEANSNO and Jello Biafra

That's pretty much all I can think of at the moment.

It's not the best collaboration I guess, but Temple of the Dog was a rather ace collaborative effort between Chris Cornell and the instrumentalists (so no Eddie Vedder) from Pearl Jam.

Im asking about a song not an album. In that case Blind Faith wins hands down. The greatest collaboration of all time if only for one album.

There are two duets, personal favourites, which I think work particularly well:

"I Know Him So Well" from the musical, Chess, by Tim Rice, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, sung by Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson.

"Au fond du temple saint" from The Pearl Fishers, Bizet, sung by Jussi Bjorling, tenor, and Robert Merrill, baritone.

These are two classic examples of collaboration and harmony.

That new(-ish) Moulin Rouge song... lol.

Wasn't that Eminem/Elton John duet thing also really well-covered?
