    Default question about modding

So not to waist anybody's time I've been playing the total war series since the medieval. Just recently have I joined this website and found out about modding. After I finish this campaign I have going in vanilla. I was looking to go for either the ss mod for realism and third age mod just because I'm a huge fan. Now I realize I need the kingdoms expansion to play both mods but where my concern lies is I lost my hard copy of the game during a recent move. So I downloaded medieval 2 gold edition from the game stop app. My problem is I don't see any files on my computer containing medieval 2 nor do I even see kingdoms anywhere on the game. I am not a computer whiz at all so I was wandering if anyone on here knows anything about this. Do I have to buy a hardcopy to mod it? Thanks sorry if this is a stupid question. Lol.

This post makes it seem as if the default install location is in My Games. So check that out and see if it's there.

ok wow told you i wasnt a computer whiz about that was it. now there is a list of folders two are medieval2.exe and kingdoms.exe when i click of medieval2.exe the normal game opens, when i click on the kingdoms one it starts to come up and then a box with a yellow triangle with a exclamation point in it appears and it wont load any farther. there is a also a mod folder already, with americas, british isles, crusades, and teutonic knights. These mods come with the game already? How do i use them? I'm assuming Americas is for kingdoms but what are the others for? I'm also assuming that when i do download more mods that they dropped into this folder? Sorry i'm asking so many questions at once. but thank you paparosario.

Those "mods" are the 4 kingdoms campaigns. All 4 of them are part of the expansion. You can play them by using the launcher which should also be located in that same folder. And yes, when you download more mods, you should install them into the "mods" folder.
