"Dear Pro-Consul of Iberia, I name you welcome as pro-consul of my beloved province, the lusitanians are a allied tribe, we have an agreement that in 8 years they become Roman this is a slow annexation of there lands since the last war.
There is no need to attack them as they have quiete and immersive army. And anyway they become roman.
However station one of your legions at the border just in case. But do not open hostilities this is not permitted by the senate.
You could best focus on getting funds to build roads and upgrade/build ports.
A well groomed slave shakes his head and says, "Pro Consul Balbus is at Iberia. You may speak with me and I will relay the message or you can order me to inform him of your departure to Iberia, he will provide safe passage."
Well, Quintus. We share the same name it would seem.
Might you deliver this letter to your master? Or have it dispatched. It is of the utmost in importance

Senator Balbus,
I am Quintus Furius Agricola, serving Quaestor of Rome. I am up for election for the position of Pro-Consul of Silicia et Africa. I am writing this letter to inform you of my keen intentions for winning the election. I have many ideas to propose for bettering the Pro-Consulate, on your neighbouring south. These proposals include;
- Better farming equipment for the productivity of many crops, so to increase the exports from the Consulate to the rest of the Republic, as needed.
- A revamped road system to better enhance the productivity of the African provinces.
- More soldiers for the protection for the bordering settlements, to thwart any Bedouin, Numidian, or Berber attacks against Roman provinces in the south.
- A fully completed census of the Consulate, which may not have been completed in some years, due to the recent problems of filling the position with a suitable Pro-Consul.
- An increase in able-bodied slave production for the outlying Consulates, and the mainland of the Republic itself, as in recent years, the exports from the Consulate have been weak and stagnated.
Serving as Quaestor as of now, has made me quite aware of the finances of the Republic, and what is within my means for expenditures.
I am hoping for this opportunity to prove my worth as a Pro-Consul, and I hope I might secure your vote to grant me this opportunity.
Thank you, Pro-Consul, and I hope you are well, and thriving in your newfound position.
Thank you, Quintus. I look to see, or hear from your master, on election day. Do wish him the best when once you see him again. I know he is a very busy man.
