Launcher Doesn't Close Down

I've just begun to play M2TW (which I bought off of Steam) in earnest, but every time I load it, the launcher doesn't close down when M2 starts, so the loading music starts to play over the game sountrack. This really annoys me, and the only way I can close it is going into Task Manager, which causes the game to freeze. How can I avoid this?

I have it on DVD (plus Kingdoms) and I've noticed that the launcher also doesn't close down properly. Luckily it isn't an issue as I can run it without starting the launcher... I don't know how the Steam version works, but can you do that? I have Empire and NTW, and both of those can be run from the desktop without any extra launcher.

Yeah same happens to me. It also overheats my CPU for some reason. I just close it through the task manager

This happens to me too (I started playing only last week). Just minimize the game after you press PLAY, and end the process from the Task Manager.
