Default How do post-marian rebellions work in 2.5 & Caesar?

Just wondering if someone could please tell me or kindly direct me to a link if there is one (I searced for it, but missed it i'm sure) on how post-marian rebellions work? Am post-reforms right now with FM's as ruling family, and have recruited a General with the name Caesar but not the trait. When will I see someone with the Caesar/Imperator Trait?

    Thanks a mil!

It depends on the number of settlement you have.
Around 80-90 settlements, you'll have the second rebellion, and eventually your faction leader will gain the trait of ceasar I think.

The fact you have one general name Ceasar is purely random, and had no effect on the rebellion at all.

I have another question...I had my Caesar general win a heroic victory and I was prompted by a message for him to be adopted to a family member. I hit yes, but he doesn't appear on my family tree anywhere?

There are several family trees, with only the main one being shown.

If the heir happens to be from another family (you're not able to chose this), then the main family will be switched to his when he becomes faction leader.

Okay, I understand. But how could the heir be from another family tree? Do both the FL and Successor need to die in the same turn or something?

I'm not exactly sure how the heir is chosen, but if the FL has no children, then I guess it would go to another family.

Oh I see. What are the probabilities of having a general be adopted by the ruling family? If I keep letting him win heroicly, will he be adopted eventually? Thanks so much for the info.

Probably, but it also depends on the number of settlements you have compared to the number of family member.
If you have lots of settlement, and few FM, you'll have lots of "Man of the hour", or adoption.

Great! Then I will keep trying! Is there a link somewhere to how to edit names in case, he never gets adopted though =/. I was kind of hoping to get as closely realistic campaign as possible by having a general actually named Caesar become the FL.

I think the heir the game chooses is the family member with the highest influence, or at least thats what always happens with me. Just make sure Caesar has the highest influence and he should be the heir when the FL dies.

Okay! Thank you for that. I will try and put him in Rome to get the Urbanus Ancillary and maybe some influence traits? Is that a good strategy?
