Just got Shogun Total War Gold in this gamersgate deal. Do I need to patch this game? If so, where can I find the correct patch?

Also, is there any way to get this game to work with Windows 7? Right now I'm experiencing flickering on the menu screen and I can't change the resolution. Is there any way to fix these problems? My video card is a GTX 680. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
