    Default "Total War: Shogun 2 has encountered an error" blabla

    Like so many others, I used to play the game just fine without major crashes/freezes. 90h played and all. Haven't played much for about a year, now I tried to play again only to have it constantly crash on me. Played somewhat fine two weeks ago, didn't crash a single time but I didn't play much.

    Installed some mods today, which I have uninstalled already to try and fix the game. Also, lowered the gx settings and the dx, tried windowed mode, verified cache. None of this seems to work.

    Also, I haven't installed FotS since I haven't received it yet.

    How do I upload the dxdiag so you guys can have a look?

    When you uninstalled the mods, did you be sure to delte all the mod packs and the scrips folder followed by verfying the game cahce?

    Have youtried Game Booster to go with the above?

    Update the graphics drivers at www.amd.com as there have been a few more tweaks.

    Finally, it gave me an error message besides "stopped working"

    Says insufficient memory. Now I can work towards fixing this.

    Still, seems strange that I can't play it now when I used to play this a lot last summer and through autumn.

    CA upped the specs in December, refined it with RotS release, upped the specs, agian, when it released FotS and the patches following it. It takes more horses than a year ago.

    Has there been another amd driver release since May? I remember the most recent one giving me problems with games, screwing up the graphics, so I rolled back :/
