MTW2 Gold Edition

Just the other day I purchased MTW2 Gold offline from gamestop, and downloaded it to my computer, much like you would with steam. Anyway I can play the regular MTW2 fine, however when I want to play a kingdoms campaign, (the britannia campaign specifically) Its really bugged up. I have been able to play the crusades and americas campaign, but the britannia campaign crashes before the start. I noticed in the mods folder there were five campaigns listed, americas, crusades, teutonic, then there was british_isles and britannia. The britannia mod folder was basically empty, it had 2 folders "packs" and "preferences" however both were empty. on the other hand, the british_isles one looks very normal.

Any idea what went on here?? I would like to be able to play as scotland and crush the british lol. (yes braveheart has been on tv alot lately) But I can't do it in this campaign.
Any help would b appreciated

I ony have the british_isles folder for the Bitttania campaign.

Are those two folders in the brittania folder also in the british_isles folder with the same time and date file size?

In the Brittania campaign icon, which folder does it point to?

Well thats the thing, the the folders in the britannia folder are empty, the "packs" folder in british_isles has 420 mb and the data folder has 494 mb. oh and i just noticed the two folders in britannia are "packs" and "preferences" while british isles has "packs" and "data"

Something interesting though, i tried to rename the british_isles folder to britannia, and guess what, i got to the start menu! however i went to the campaign and noticed i can only play as England, and that the start year was 1 AD. I thought this was odd, but then i tried to start it, and it just took me back to the start menu, i tried a few more times and still no success.

Also as for the Icon there is no icon for the britannia campaign. I only have 3 one for MTW2 one for Kingdoms and the other is a launcher which lets me select which campaign to play, that one goes to MTW2 or kingdoms depending on what i want to play i guess.

One of two things is messed upand possibly both.

Right-click the Medieval II Total War Brittania icon, click preferences, and check my pic.

In the Target, mine says british_isles towards the right end of the space. Make this part in your look like mine if not already.

Another possiblity is in the registry and need to use regedit to get there.

Hey thank you, that wasnt the exact problem but you just fixed it... if that makes sense.

Instead of launching it from the launcher I checked in my start menu then all programs and found that there was indeed an icon for britannia campaign, i checked the target and it all checked out, so i clicked it and it works like a charm. so basically my problem was instead of launching it from the launcher, i gotta click on the shortcut.
