Default Anyone Else having a hard time playing Barbs?

I have been playing this game since Day 1, but as the Brits Squalor has been to much of a factor. Cities revolt on me constantly m/m. anyone else having a hard time with revolts and barbarian factions?

I think Barbarian buildings need a few more modifiers to offset the constant revolting of large cities.

Well in 5.0 the barb factions can now build cess pits and the like to improve public health and reduce squalor.

I have played Britons, Germans and Iberians and never had a city revolt on me. I was playing on hugh settings so that may have reduced population levels to the point where squalor wasnt much of a problem.

Just apply the "scorch earth" policy. You gain money and reduce revolts. but you will be spending denarii on repairing destroyed buildings. but it doesnt really cost that much. Plus, barbs can heal their population quickly.

Look at it this way, the gauls and britions wheren't a unified nation state rather a loose collection of tribes who didnt always get along or have the same agenda (this was probley the main reason why the romans over ran them). So if you want to retain unified and total control some of these citys are going to have to be used as an example of what happens if you revolt against the ultimate warlord (you).

Put them to the sword and any extra money or slaves you get from doing so is just a bonus. Sometimes you have to be crule to be kind

    OR

Adjusting the "export_descr_buildings" to include the BI law/happiness bonuses for city walls as ive done for a while now on the mm3 map sure wouldnt hurt any, I did it more for very large factions (Seleucids) to help combat distance from capital effect but from how you discribe your problems i dont think it would hurt the smaller barbarian factions either.
