Re: Help with Steam
It's pretty much the same as installing the mod with the nonsteam version. You don't have to install the SS to the mods folder, but I do for easy of remembering. Download the 6.3 and 6.4 installers, but point the directory to \steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods and install. Steam does have a problem recognizing non-official mods, so clicking on the Stainless Steel shortcut won't start the mod. There are 3 way's I've found to make it work:
1. Rename the "americas" folder to something like "americasOLD" then rename SS6.3 to americas. When the launcher starts you will click to launch the americas mod it will launch Stainless instead.
2. Download the Kingdom's launcher app http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downl...o=file&id=2824
This will let you add SS to the launcher app.
3. This is the one I use, and the one I recommend. Download the launcher.exe replacement found here http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=2500705
This exe actually replaces the original launcher (i'd recommend renaming the original in case the replacement doesn't work out for you) with a better one. It lets you launch mods and disable intro movies and it also doesn't hang up like the original does.
So ya it's pretty straight forward.

Re: Help with Steam
V1c7r1x's launcher at that link worked well for me. In addition to that, you may also want to take a look at http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=2187107 for a bit more information about M2 mods and Steam.

Re: Help with Steam
Forgot to add that between the launcher and the other thread's info that you'll be able to add mods without having to rename the Kingdoms campaign folders.
