    Default Longest living general?

One time while playing as the Julii 3 years ago Quintus Julius lived to be 92 years old, spending the last 35 or so years as the faction leader and eventually seeing the demise of the Senate and the Brutii and having the Scipii relegated to Sicily before dying in 207 BC. A few days ago in my Celtic Campaign in BI, Angus (who is 65 at the beginning of the game) lived to be 88 and campaigned in Britain, Germany, Denmark and France against Western Romans, Romano-British, and Saxon armies until his peaceful death during a siege in 386 AD. But other than these two I have never seen any live past their mid 70s.

    But what about you?

I had Hanno past 90s but my best was Theages with whom I conquered almost all Italy. I remember that I had with him 5 heroic victories and in everyone he had another epithet after his name. He died as "the Great" at 96 years old. But my best I think it was the german faction leader who reached 99 (so close to 100 ). The barbarian faction leaders have a tendency of living a lot in vanilla Rome, I don't know why.

I usually bring another young general with three or four stars, make them heirs, and keep them in the army so that when my best dies, the next is there to properly lead the army. I do this because I like to have only one conquering army (with a variety of troops, few elites) that gain xp and makes my game feel realistic.

I do remember few of my generals who lived to be until early 90s I guess, what I like to then is to retire them, I place them in a nice coastal city with lots of villas and they live rest of their years there while faction heir takes over. I did that many times in RTW and later in RTW:BI, I also do it in M2TW!

My Julii general and faction leader captured Sparta in his early 70s and I left him there because I thought he was going to die anytime soon (he ended up outliving two faction heirs). I guess he got to retire.

But anyway, I don't want to start a M2TW discussion in this thread, but I've never seen a Medieval general or family member live past 61?

some guy in the XGM forums posted a picture of a general that made it to 128 or something

i think they said that once you pass a certain threshold, the game stops checking the chance to die

108 with Britannia. The heir died the same turn as him, aged 90.
WIP. Watch this space. It'll be epic.

    No, seriously.

My 4th faction leader on once campaign lived to about 94 before he died of the plauge. I 'accidentily' killed him though when I brought the plauge to that settlement, otherwise he might have lived longer. His wife did outlast him by about 14 years though.

Highest ever was a FL for a Julii who lived to be exactly 100 seeing as he died the turn after his birthday

As the Seleucids my original faction leader was still living when I moved on to mods, he was 121 or so, and had just conquered Scythia with an all cavalry army. He just wouldn't die from old age.

I remember playing a Celtic campaign back when I first got the game five years ago, one of my generals who I used to beat up rebels lived to be about 107. Wish I had a screenshot, it was pretty neat.

Saw the photo someplace (can't find now) but someone had a faction leader that lived so long that his picture reset so that he was a child aged 100 and some.
